1 Pit enti Western Pennsylvania: Partly cloudy tonight and Friday with chance of ahowers. Not so cool tonight. Low 38 to 46. We live by a very exacting kind ot poetic logic since we get exactly. what we ask for, no more, and no less.

"A body of people having common organization or interests or living in the same place" under the same laws and regulations." Thus Webster's unabridged dictionary defines the word "community." Latrobe Borough, Unity Township and Youngs-town Borough, under this definition qualify as a community. And, supporting this observation are many fac-.

tors. People from these three areas within the munity work together, go to school together, do business with each other, support the various fund drives, contribute to "the Community Chest and to the Latrobe Hospital, to mention a few. Certainly, there are boundary lines" which separate these three municipalities, but under the cir Owners Identified Property -owners-include Harriett Rogers, Anthony Sarnese, Elsie E. Cramer, Dell H. HARRISBURG (UPI) The state Milk Control Commission today offered to permit sales of twin pack paper half gallons at the same discount price now allowed for glass jugs in the 13-county area of western Pennsylvania. The action marked a major victory for the city of Pittsburgh and the Country Bell Farmers Cooperative, Pittsburgh, which had objected to a previous ruling that milk in gallon quantities be sold only in glass jugs at discount. Includes Westmoreland Shearer and Louise W. Shearer.

McDonald said the site in Cramer Heights is bounded on the west in its entirety by Pennsylvania Railroad tracks and on the east by Lloydsville. Part of the' parcel is outlined by Unity St on the I1'. V-W. pllllS ifrr Jfl- 'J'' 1 iv I I. mi A I north.

These pHees will prevail through July when they will take a seasonal rise of six cents for the next eight months. We like to believe that we are one people, with a common goal and a -common interest, working for the advancement of "facilities which benefit us all because we are interdependent upon each other. A concerted effort of a community always stands to increase the chances of success of a community.

Jealousies, provincialism, concern for local autonomy, suspicion and other nefarious and picayunish considerations can wreck any unified endeavor of a community. We hope that these leelings will not bear heavily upon the attitude of the voters in these three districts when they go to the polls on Tuesday to vote on the merger of the Latrobe, Unity Township and Youngstown school district to form the Greater Latrobe School District and a better community. History of this community has proved its desire to work together for the benefit of the whole. We can't subscribe to the ideology of those who are permitting petty notions discolor, confuse and cloud the real issue that of bettering the educational opportunities of our children, who will be the citizens of tomorrow. In what better way can we ensure the perpetuation of this community spirit than having our future citizens form the basis for this spirit by going to school together? Merger will provide our children with a better education and this in itself should enhance the betterment of the community.

Growth of this section of the country cannot be achieved solely on the resourcefulness of one municipality or group of people. The entire community must be involved in order to achieve this goal. Latrobe depends upon Unity Unity Township depends upon Latrobe and both depend upon Youngstown Borough and vice versa. Yes, it's this simple, and it's a reality which must not be scuttled by insignificant emotions. Fear that merger, under the system of electing school directors four of the seven at-large might create a prejudicial atmosphere is unfounded, we Th nrdinance will be' filed in quirement that a consumer payi was given by the Rev.

The people of this community, imbued with a spirit of common achievement as has been demonstrated, throughout our history, will not permit this selfish condition to develop.

And more particularly when it concerns our children. The welfare of a child is one denominator which develops common sense and consideration. Merging of the three school districts into one not only will have a tremendous impact upon our education and for the better, we might add but an equally foffcrl impact upon the future propulsion of our economic, social and cultural standards. Merger is best for this community, we are convinced. The Bulletin respectfully suggests that the voters register an affirmative reaction next Tuesday at the polls.
