All-America Doak Walker and sophomare Kyle Rote pooled their running, kicking, passing and pass-receiving brilliance today to fashion a 21-13 victory over Oregon in the Cotton Bowl. Walker led a 59-yard drive to a touchdown in the first period.

Then mighty quick-kicks by Walker and Rote held Oregon in check as Southern Methodist took a half time lead. -J--U FIRST PERIOD Southern Methodist took the kickoff on its 41 and Walker sparked a touchdown drive that required only 11 plays. Walker blasted over from the six-inch line, then kicked the extra point. Oregon took the kkkoff on its 21 and Lewis and Bell battered to the southern SMU 47 before being stopped. Van Brocklin kicked out on the Southern Methodist 27.

THIRD PERIOD Southern Methodist took the second half kickoff on its 20 and paraded to a touchdown in 10 plays, with Rote taking a handoff Doak Walker Sparks SMU to victory. from Walker and cutting over right guard for the final 36 yards. Van Brocklin's passes carried Oregon down to the 23, where he pitched to Wilkins for a touchdown.

Rote ran the kickoff to the Southern Methodist 44 and in eight plays SMU had another touchdown, Roberts making it on an eight- 1 000 fans. The margin of victory- was Jaek Miller's 15-yard field goal in the final quarter, which ust offset ft Missouri safety as each team rolled to three touchdowns. FOURTH PERIOD Clemson drove to the Missouri 15 where Jack Miller kicked a field goal from the 22. The Baylor Bears and Wake Forest Deacons met today in the annual Dixie Bowl game before a chilled crowd of less than 20,000. The lead changed hands five times after Georgia scored in the opening minutes of play on a pass interception. Texas marched 62 yards for a score and added another to lead 13-7 at the quarter. Georgia scored again, but so did Texas and" the Longhorns, underdogs by seven points in the betting, led 20-14 at the half. Georgia roared back with two touchdowns and grabbed a 28-27 lead but couldn't hold it as the Texans smashed through the line and mixed it with passes to score two more. Texas piled up 19 first downs to Georgia's nine and gained 332 yards from scrimmage to Georgia's meager 56.

The crowd surpassed last year's record turnout of by nearly a thousand paid admissions. FIRST PERIOD Georgia's John Tillitski fumbled the kickoff and Randall Clay recovered for Texas on the Bulldogs' 29. Georgia's AI Bodine intercepted Paul Campbell's pass on the 27 and ran 73 yards to score. Joe Geri added the extra point. Texas marched 62 -yards for a touchdown.

Clay's kick was wide and Georgia led, 7-6. Georgia couldn't gain, and Geri kicked to the Texas 49. Georgia was penalized 15. Weyman Sellers intercepted Campbell's pass and ran to the Texas 44. Billy Pyle intercepted John.

Rauch's pass on the four to stop a Georgia threat. Texas moved down the field in a drive with Tom Landry scoring from the 19. Texas made three first downs during the march to Bcore. Landry went the last 19 yards. Clay's kick was good.

Score: Texas 13, Georgia 7. SECOND PERIOD Georgia rolled from the Bulldogs' 86, aided by Rauch's 27-yard pass to Gene Lorendo, another 17-yard-er to Bob Walston and a third for 16 to Lorendo. Geri. scored from the one. Geri "kicked the extra ofnt and sent Georgia into the ead, 14-13.

THIRD PERIOD Texas took the kickoff on the one but stalled at midfield. Georgia couldn't gain and Pyle took Geri's kick on the Texas 43. The Longhorns clipped off 10 and 15 yard gains to reach the 26. There Campbell passed to Ben Proctor fr the touchdown. Clay kicked the extra point and Texas led, 27-14.

Georgia took Landry's kick on the Texas 46, and stabbed the line for short gains. Rauch passed to Walston foT 24 yards to the six. Geri rammed the middle to score. Geri added the point and Texas still led, 27-21. Texas had the ball on their own 19 as the quarter ended.

Score: Texas 27, Georgfa 21. FOURTH PERIOD Landry quick-kicked 71 yards but the Bulldogs couldn't get through the Texas line and Geri kicked. Nick Feher recovered Landry's fumble for Georgia on Texas' 34. aLukie Brunson lost three and Rauch passed to Walston for 37 and a score. Geri added the point to put Georgia ahead, 28-27.

Texas started on its own 31 and roared down the filed with short passes and smashing line play. Clay tore through from the two to score, putting Texas ahead, 34-28. Taking the ball on downs" on Georgia's 32, Texas smashed over again, with Clay scoring. Clay added the point. Final: Texas 41.

Georgia 28. Hula Still Features The hula, the most successful dance ever interpreted by Sonja Henie, will be the feature of her ice show which will open in the Garden, Jan. 20. The Golden Girl and her cast will play through Tuesday, Feb. 8, with no performances for Jan.
