1'iige 4, Trade Show, Friday, September 6, 1996 KROF: Same wonderful music, just a new name Jack Dean. From 3 to 7 p.m., Dick Bartley's "American Gold" is aired. On Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m., "The Gator" features Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll Remember." "Keepin' the 70's Alive," hosted by Bob Shannon, is reserved for Sunday night from 6 to 9 D.m. KROF AM-FM is owned and operated by Abbeville Broadcasting Service, and since 1947 is one of the oldest Vermilion Parish businesses. FM 105.1 operates at 25,000 watts of power and broadcasts a format which plays music of the 50's, 60's and 70's.

KROF 105.1 operates 24 hours a day and broadcasts local news as well as Louisiana Network News delivered by satellite. In June of 1996, KROF was selected to be the official flagship station of the Louisiana Icegators Ice Hockey Team. In keeping with the excitement and action of the sport, KROF FM now calls itself "105.1 The Gator." "The Gator" will broadcast all the Icegators games for the 1996-97 season as well as any playoff games. i If? 'fl KROF AM 960, "Cajun Country," operates at 1 ,000 watts of power from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Renowned bilingual announcer Carney Doucet can be heard six mornings a week spinning popular Cajun tunes. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, most all of Acadiana listens to Carney's show which is broadcast on both 105.1 FM and 960 AM featuring the best of Acadiana's French Heritage music. Saturday afternoon on 960 AM, Bill Best hosts "The Original Country Show" highlighting traditional country artists and groups each week. Listeners can tune in to 960 AM every afternoon for the best in traditional country music. This season, Vermilion Parish football games will be broadcast on FM 105.1 "The Gator" rather than on 960 AM.

Also new to the FM sports format, Mike Calamari and Frank deGraauw Jr. will host a sports show Weekdays, "The Gator" features the ever-popular morning show with J.C., "Mike in the Mid-Day," and "Andy in the Afternoon" with the Homestretch Request Hour from 4 to 5 p.m. The "Flight to Midnight" with Larry Logan kicks off at 7 p.m. with requests until midnight. Mike Calamari and J.C.

Falcon with the Louisiana Icegators Gator Girls on Thursday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. featuring highlights from Vermilion Parish football games, as well as updates from USL, LSU, the Saints, and the Icegators. Listeners are welcome to call in their requests and comments by calling 893-1051. For a direct line to the Carney Doucet and Bill Best shows, listeners can now call 893-9696.
