There are great big pillows all over the floor, too. I've designed my apartment so I'll have someplace comfortable to land if I fall down." Young Stratton gave away his furniture and clothes almost three years ago when he packed up and left his New York apartment for Hollywood. He held a party and handed over his possessions to his pals. Then, with a small suitcase and the clothes on his back, he headed west. Stratton's concern with creature comforts is understandable when the working conditions of NBC-TV series are taken into consideration.

His daily routine is not unlike a hitch in the armed services. He is up at 5:30 a.m. to shower and fix himself a protein eye-opener apple juice, bananas, yeast, wheat germ, two eggs, a dash of vanilla and protein powder mixed in a blender. Then he drives his im- By VERNON SCOTT HOLLYWOOD iTJPI) -r W. K.

Stratton, the tall handsome blond Lt. Casey of the "Baa Baa Black Sheep" gang, took acting classes in high school to meet pretty girls, a gambit that remains a motivating factor in his life. W. He dates a variety of pretty girls, among them Jamie Curtis, the beautiful 18-year-old daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. It would seem thatT Stratton's lifestyle is reflected in the furnishings of his small San Fernando Valley apartment. It has three rooms and three beds. There is a king-sized bed in -the hallway, a queen-sized number in the bedroom and a double bed in the living room. W.

And if he finds a girl who can cook up a proper batch of collard greens, mustard greens and black-eyed peas, he might even be moved to a marriage proposal. Comes the weekend and W. K. heads for the Sierra. He is a rabid trout fisherman who loves the wilderness country.

He throws a sleeping bag and fishing tackle into the car and wets his line in the Kern or Owens River. He has a pal with a four-wheel drive vehicle and together they camp out and sleep under the stars. On occasional days off W. K. plays tennis or goes to the beach to body surf.

Stratton would like to own a dog, a big one to take on fishing trips. For that reason he is looking around for a new pad. His current landlord forbids tenants to keep ported sports car 35 miles into the desert near Indian Dunes to report to work on an abandoned airstrip where most of "Baa, Baa Blacksheep" is filmed. His scenes are played out in blazing sunshine and wind driven sand. The all-male cast devotes the lunch break Stratton usually sk4pthe noon meal to volleyball.

"We need more nurses or female characters in this series," he says. "It's really ike being in the service Just a bunch of guys in uniform which can be pretty boring." The day's work ends about 6 p.m. Stratton hurries home to shower, dress, pick up a date and head for a restaurant. He is partial to Mexican food. "I don't like to eat alone," he says.

"I used to go out for a bite of dinner with some of the other guys on the show. But we see so much of one another during the day that it got to be a pain." When restaurant food begins to pall on his palate, Stratton forces himself into the kitchen where he broils chicken or pork chops. If he W. K. STRATTON has eye for girls with sombrero-type hats.

Now he slops around in jogging shoes, denims and plaid shirts. "I dress like I live," Stratton concludes, "loose and comfortable." pets.
