survive in the city," said Mrs. William B. Wood, 242 Milan Lane, Hoffman Estates. Her guest is eight-year old Pam Green from South Chicago. "When Gregory said, 'Why do you all have such a big house for so few people?" we felt quite humbled," commented Mrs.

Don Evenson, 440 Dale Arlington Heights. Six-year old Gregory Hall comes fiom the riot-lorn west side area. Mrs. Josiah S. Turner, 242 Milan Lane, Hoffman Estates, said "STRANGENESS fear and this is what we want to avoid in the thinking of our children." Her guest is nine- year-old Jonathan Lee, from the near north side of Chicago.

The two week "Friendly Town" visitations are arranged by the Chicago Missionary Society and local churches. Countryside Unitarian i- versalist Fellowship in Palatine and St John United Church of Christ in Arlington Heights are the participating churches in the area. While the families are learning more about inner-city life, the youngsters are having a heyday with bicycles, pets and swimming pools in suburban neighborhoods. Energetic Jonathan is "mad about the racer bike," said Mrs. Turner.

Jonathan entertains the neighborhood children with his professional-like singing. He doesn't giggle or become bashful like the other kids when he's sing ing, said Mrs. Turner. THEN JONATHAN went into a finger-snapping, foot-tapping version of a popular song. Down the street, Pam Green is visiting with the Woods family A well-mannered, mature girl, Pam helps to settle spats between the younger children, according to Mrs.

And, according to Mrs. Evenson, he has made great friends with a brown mallard duck, a pet in the Evenson household. "He talks with the duck and says the duck talks back to him," Mrs.

Evenson noted. The Friendly Town program is divided into three two-week sessions' July 16 to 30; July 23 to August 6, and August 6 to 20. OTHER FAMILIES participating in the program are: the Robert Chancy family, 406 W. Kirchoff a Arlingt Heights; the Roger Bardwell family, 2929 Briar Drive, Arlington Heights; the Gerhardt Wai- lies lamily, 112 N. Russell.

Mount Prospect; the Paul Reynolds family, 2512 Cedar Glen Drive, Arlington Heights; and the Neil Bennett family, 544 White Pine Road, Buffalo Grove. The families pick up the children at Casa Central, a family service center at 40 N. Ashland. They return the child to his home, at that time, meeting the parents. This summer, Friendly Town will entertain nearly twice as many youngsters as last year and will enroll nearly a thousand families in eight states.

"I've gotten good ideas on how to wear my hair and what shade of makeup to use "Wasn't it fun seeing yourself as a blonde, or redhead, or brunette?" Such are the comments that are heard as the ladies come out of the Clairol Carousel. Everyone seemed pleased, and why not; they had just received expert guidance in ways to make themselves more attractive. How many times have you wished you could change the color of your hair but didn't have the nerve to do so because you thought the color you like would not look good on you. You still have time to get a pretty good idea of what you would look like with different color hair, by going through the Clairol Color Carousel.

The Carousel will be on the Randhurst mall until Saturday, July 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It's fun going through, and who knows, it may open up a whole new world for you. IF YOU ARE going south this fall or winter and need additional clothing, now is a good time to purchase clothes suitable to that climate and best of all, there are many bargains to be found in the sales most Randhurst stores are having. There are signs that fall is approaching take a look in the store windows at Rand- hurst I don't know if you feel the way I I'm tired of the hot weather and the limp look and am looking forward to the change of the season and the new clothes it brings.

Our stores are well stocked with beautiful new fall I say more 1 We urge you and your family to come to Randhurst to see the Meister Brau Westphalian Stallion Hitch. These beautifully groomed horses will be at Rand- hurst for one day only for just a few hours, from noon until 4 p.m Friday, July 29, and as a souvenir of your visit, you will be given a picture of these powerful horses. If your children ask you why the horses are so big, have such broad backs and large hoofs, you can tell them this interesting bit of information, that this breed of horse was used in carrying knights of armor to battle. Randhurst Cinema is continuing thier first anniversary celebration by showing "Cast a Giant Shadow," for two weks, starting July 29, through August 11. For further information, please call 392-9393.

JULY 28, 1966 tana, where 100 Chicago dren will visit this summer. THE HOST families are responsible for the maintenance and entertainment of the child while he is visiting The families interviewed expressed a concern with the small number of families participating "PEOPLE JUST don't know about the program, and that's a reason for the small participation," said Mrs. Woods.
