Jacob Nolde, of Heading, had a business career which can find few parallels in the industrial history Rnrks county. As the head of the Nolde Horst manu facturers of hosiery, who have es tablished one of the largest plants of the kind in the United States, nis operations bore an important relation to the prosperity of the city. Old established families and native born residents of this section are so numerous that Mr. Nolde's residence in Reading, dating from the year 1888, seems comparatively brief. He was born, in Berleburg, Westphalia, Germany, in 1859, and received the excellent educational advantages of the schools of his na tive land.

Until he came to America, in 1880, he was engaged as traveling salesman for a clothing house. His first location in this country was at Stony Creek, Berks county, where he found employment as a weaver with Louis Kraemer with NOT THE 0N1Y ONE There Are Other Reading People Similarly Situated Can there be any stronger proof offered than the evidence of Beading After you have read the following, quietly answer the question. Nn woman with the slightest spark of pride or ambition In her wants to be laid on the shelf, aged, careworn, wrinkled and forgotten so that men wish to avoid her at every dance and dinner party, and women themselves would like to invite someone who looks younger to brighten up the occasion.

Yet there is no longer any reason why the average woman need look so old and plain even if fhe is old. Since the remarkable discovery of skin osmosis almost any woman can obtain most astonishing new beauty and a most surprisingly youthful appearance even though she is 40. or 50 or more years of age. The Countwrs de Chevanne who at 70 years of age possesses a marvelously soft, smooth, velvet like skin and an almost girl like complexion without a wrinkle in sight, told the writer personally in Paris that she owed it ail to the discovery of skin osmosis. With this marvelous discovery every complexion blemish can be banished in three nights in many instances, and you can awaken in the morning with a beautiful, rose colored com plion fresh as a daisy.

Adv. I. 0 JACOB NOLDE whom he continued until he engaged in business on his own account. When Louis Kraemer Co. started the Nazareth Manufacturing in Northampton county, Mr.

Nolde accompanied them, remaining there until the spring of when he disposed of his interests and came to Beading. Stars Urftlerwear Mill The Nazareth Manufacturing Co. were converting their knitting mill into a factory devoted exclusively to the production of underwear, and Mr. Nolde purchased their' seamless half hose machinery, which comprised twenty machines and the necessary auxiliaries; This modest equipment has proved to be the nucleus of one of the largest and most completely appointed lactones in the country. The machines were installed in the Thalheimer building, at 143 Cedar street.

But in a very short time the business outgrew these quarters, and in the spring of 1890 Mr. Nolde found more adequate accommodations at 222 Cedar street, in a building 45 xlOO feet in dimensions. While he was in that location he admitted George D. Horst to a partnership in the business, and they have been associated ever since. Purchasing the property they carried on operations there until 1892, by which time they had reached the conclusion that it would be economy to have a building especially adapted to the needs of the growing industry.

Consequently they in vested in a lot 100 feet square on Moss street, beyond Douglass, upon which they erected a three story and basement factory 50 100 feet. Their expensive venture was fol lowed shortly by the panic of 1893, but indomitable effort soon made them masters of the situation, and the new industry weathered the storm with such skill that it suffered no decline. Up to this time the products of the factory had been, a cheap class of goods, but when the fast black and tan goods came to be generally favored, they found.it necessary to meet the popular demand, and In order to facilitate their work opened a finishing establishment in Phila delphia. Mr. Horst took charge of the new branch, Mr.

Nolde retaining the management of the Reading plant, this arrangement lasted until the concern was incorporated, in 1897. It had previously been conducted on a partnership basis. Plant Destroyed by Fire After the incorporation, the Nolde Horst Company purchased a tract of land adjoining the first lot, lOOx 160 feet in dimensions, and built an bodbye Wrinkles! In i i. See how the old, hardened, coarse, rough skin turns Into new, fresh, soft, youthful looking skin, almost before your very eyes, all due to simple skin osmosis produced solely by warm water and roseated cream. But be sure to use only pure roseated cream, as it la an entirely, different thing from ordinary face creams and must not be confounded with them. I personally prefer Creme Tokalon (Roseated) but any good brand will do.

If yon have wrinkles get a box of Japanese Ice Pencils and use them in connection with the cream and you can get quick action on the deepest wrinkles, no matter of how long In one night's time and awaken on the morrow to witness most astonishing results. Also the use of a little Santonez (sold by druggists) ort the face each morning wlllt almost immediately suppress the appearance of all smaller wrinkles and marks of age and make you look almost years, younger. It gives an indescribably beautiful effect to the neck and arms for evening dress. I personally guarantee success in every case, in any of my newspaper articles relating to beauty, or I will refund the amount' paid for any products I recommend provided you take your dealer's receipt at the time you make your purchase.
