Klipstein, formerly of Fond du. Lac, now both living in Washington, D.C, suggested that "Winneconne secede from and declare war on the United States" to get state officials to put the village back on the map. For their suggestion, the two girls will receive an expense paid weekend in Winneconne as guests of the chamber of commerce.

Appraisers, of which there are two, are each paid $5 for the first $1,000 of value, 1-15 of one per cent on the next $499,000 and 1-30 of one per cent on anything over that amount. If a person dies without a will, the court appoints an administrator who acts in the same capacity as the executor. The administrator receives the same fees as the executor.

These fees are established as minimums by the state bar association. On a $1,500 estate probated through the Winnebago County probate court, the total cost of administration came to $195, or 13 per cent of the total value. Real Estate Costlier At the other end, it cost $107,560 to probate a $2.1 million estate, or slighty more than five per cent.
