Page 11 Messenger-Press Thursday, May 12. 1983 Craft Project Geared For Mother's Day Bike-A-Thon Open To All, To Benefit Lake Project A Bike-A-Thon to benefit the Allentown Lake Restoration Program will be held on Saturday, May 21st. The Allentown Environmental Commission will again sponsor the event which this year is named in memory of Rupert Freiberger, who won the Bike-A-Thon poster contest in 1981 and also was one of the Bike-A-Thon winners. AH proceeds will assist with the Green Acres Project which is now in progress throughout the Allentown Lake area. All area residents are invited to enter the Bike-A- not on the length of time it takes to finish the course.

Emphasis is on safety, not speed. Registration will be from 8:30 A.M. in the Allentown High School parking lot on High Street and the Bike-A-Thon will begin at 10:00 A.M. Pre-registration forms can be obtained at the Allentown Borough Hall and at most places of business in Allentown. The first 200 entrants will receive shirts with the 1983 winning logo silk screen printed on the front.

Thon in either the 10 mile or 20 mile course. The entrance fee is $5.00 per person or a total of at least S5.00 from sponsors who will donate a specified amount of money for each mile a contestant completes in the event. Last year's winner was Linda Lieber based on her solicitation of over $600. in sponsored donations. Prizes this year will be several 10 speed bikes, Cybis Porcelain, Lenox China and various bike related items.

MCCC College Fair Features 120 Colleges The Mercer County Community College administration has released a list of area students who were inducted into the M.C.C.C Chapter of Psi Beta, the National honor society to recognize and reinforce students who have achieved excellence in the study of psychology. They are: Carol Jones of Groveville, Evelyn Spradley of Hightstown and Claire Bruno and Sally Edgar of Yardville. The M.C.C.C. administration also announced the list of area students meeting the academic requirements to join the National honorary scholastic fraternity, Phi Theta Kappa, which was founded in 1918 for community and junior colleges.

They included: Helen L. Ber- ger, Dolores Carter Pole, Douglas V. Mastriano, Isabel M. McKenna, John R. Tal-ley, Nicole J.

Turner, Judith H. Weiss and Linda J. Witt all of Hightstown; Phyllis O. Pole, Dianne Reinhardt, James J. Reis and Deborah F.

Thethaway all of East Windsor; Joellen Walter of Imlaystown; Denise Robson of Robbinsville; Maureen R. Clark of Roosevelt; and Timothy O'Malley of the county will also be available for additional assistance. Further information may be obtained by contacting local high school guidance counselors. the Mercer County Personnel and Guidance Association is open to all high school students and their parents. Those attending will have the opportunity to talk to college representatives and to ask questions about admissions, curricula and financial aid.

Walker is the son of Fred and Dolores Walker of Robbinsville, and grandson of Mrs. Sara Benson of the same address and Mrs. Dorothy Walker of New Egypt. Birth Announced Barbara Morrison and Mark Kimmel of Allentown are the parents of a baby boy, Alec Kimmel, born on March 21 at 8:05 P.M. at the Familyborn Center in North Brunswick.

Baby Alec weighed 7 lbs. 15 ozs. at birth. Familyborn Center, which announced the birth, provides an alternative to hospital births and provides complete midwifery services. Fred Walker, a 1979 graduate of Allentown High School and presently a Theater Major at Wesleyan University, will be a member of the cast at a Summer Dinner Theater on Put In Bay Island, Lake Erie, Ohio.

When Mr. Walker was at Allentown High School, he performed in 20 school, community and Summer Stock filays. His credits since eaving Allentown include working as production assistant to the Broadway Show "Merlin" starring magician Doug Henning. Mr. Walker plans to spend the next three to five years touring with his own magic show.
