and Mrs. George Jolley, to Leo C. Boyd, son of Mrs. Eva Perry, 14 South Chase Street. Jolley attended Catholic Girls Central High School and Catherman's Business School.

She 1s employed in the office of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Com- Miss Jolley is former tary of the Young Democrats Club of Allegany County. Mr. Boyd, native of Tennessee, Was associated with the accounting department of the Baltimore and Ohio, until last May when he was promoted to chief clerk and transferred to Cumberland. The wedding will take place in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and will be an event of the early summer.

Carolyn S. Van Horn Will Be Bride Of William D. McDermitt Mr. and Mrs. Robert L.

Van Horn, RD 1, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn 8. Van Horn, to William D. McDermitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D.

Frank L. Werner was elected president of the Girl Scout Leaders Association at its meeting during the week. Other new officers who will serve with Mrs. Clark Stallings, vice president; Mrs. Joseph Jenkins, secretary, and Mrs.

Paul Steinla, treasurer. Projects planned by the association include Red Cross Arat mid course to be given for leaders, starting April 22. It will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays for Ave weeks under the direction of Robert Thwaltes. An outdoor course will be given also in three four hour sessions beginning April 30, from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Bernard Whitacre taught games at the conclusion of the meeting and refreshments were served. Fourteen leaders attended, K.Of C. To Hold Easter Dance Friday Night An informal Easter dance will be held April 18 by Cumberland Council 586, Knights of Columbus, at the home on North Mechanic Street. Thomas Simons is chairman and Adolph Hokamp, co-chairman.

Jimmy Andrews and his orchestra will play. Tuesday night at the regular meeting of the council a movie of the Texas City disaster will 'be shown and refreshments served. April 29 sports movies will be shown at the borne at 9 p. according to Joseph H. Love, grand knight.

During the evening Mrs. William Ludman will direct group singing and the Choral Club will present several selections. Mrs.

Earl Gower, hospitality chairman, is in charge of arrangements and will be assisted by Mrs. Paul M. Fletcher, Mrs. Walter L. Pierce and Mrs.

8. Hodge Smith. The international relations group will be in charge of the program with Mrs. Courtney Kidwell as chairman, Reservations should be made with Mrs. Gower.

The bride-elect was graduated from Barton High School in 1951 and la employed by the Glenn L. Martin Company, Baltimore. Mr. Miller attended Grantsville High School, and is employed by the Gienn L. Martin Company.

A ham supper will be held day from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bowman's Addition Fire Hall. for the benefit the health service program of children of the community. Allegany Hairdressers and metologists will meet tomorrow evening at Central YMCA. The Mothers Club will have -meeting at 7 p.m.
