Mr. Aldrich has been a life-long democrat and has voted the presidential ticket every year since -he was 21. He was proud of the fact that he was able to vote for Woodrow Wilson last November. His picture was sent to President Wilson last fall, he being believed to be the oldest supporter of the Florence Carrick. James Flanagan'. Funeral services for James Flanagan will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Aloysius church, his pastor, the Rev. John W. Dwyer, Officiating.

Burial will bo in Mt. Calvary Mr. Flanagan died Mpmlay morning at Jus home off Pleasant street after a lingering illness of several months. He had been a resident of St. Johnsbury for more than sixty years, an upright, industrious citizen.

Mr. Flanagan was prominently indent ificd with St. Aloysius church, with Sheridan council, No. 421, Knights of Columbus and Chamber-lin post, Grand Army of the Republic. James Flanagan, son of Michael and Bridget Flanagan, was born in Limerick, Ireland, February 4, 1841.

He came when 12 years old to St. Jchnsbury and has since made his home here. Forty-five years of his life were passed in Fairbanks shops, from which he retired four years ago. In October, 18G9, Mr. Flanagan married Miss Sabina Lulley of St.

Johnsbury, a native of Galway, Ireland. Seven children were born to them, four of whom, with the widow, survive: William, Frank and Elizabeth of St, Johnsbury and Mary, wife of W. J. Bottomlcjyof Cherry Valley, Mass. There is also an adopted daughter, Miss Genevieve Flanagan, of St, Johnsbury.

A daughter, Miss Margaret Flanagan, died two years ago last October and a daughter, Nellie, and son, John, several years ago. Mr. Flanagan is survived also byfctwo sis Mrs. Fanny Pike. The remain of Mrs.

Fannie S. Pike, a member of the Sunset home family, who died Sunday night at St. Johnsbury hospital, were" taken Monday to Barre, her former home, for burial. Services were held lit Sunset home Monday afternoon, the Rev. F.

B. Richards officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Norman A. McLean.

Mrs. Pike was a member of the Congregational church in Barre and since coming to St. Johnsbury in 1913 had been an attendant of the South church. Her gentle, lovable nature made her a welcome addition to the family at the home and her presence will be missed. Fanny K.

Sterling Pike was born in Irasburg March 28, 1838. She is survived by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. B. F. Colby of Barre, John K.

Sterling of Boston and Andrew W. Sterling of Halifax, Mass. There arc also several nieces and nephews residing in Massachusetts and New York. The West Burke Woman's club will hold its annual business meeting at the home of Mrs. Emma Cbburn on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock.

This is perhaps the most important meeting of the whole year, and each member is urged to be present. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Kcnnison and son, Carroll, of Woodsville, N. visited at li.

Charles Whipple of Sutton has moved into Mrs. Delia Craig's house for the summer. Miss Edith Damon of St. Johnsbury was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Gallagher, over Sunday.

Peter Abar, Archie Bailey and Burton Gray went to Bald Hill pond fishing the first of last week but found more ice than fish and came home to wait for warmer wmther. CharlesCheney has gone to his farm on the lake road for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mears are at home from Newport for a short, time.

Alma Meighan of Lyndonville spent Sunday with friends in town. Mr. and Mrs. R. H.

Cheney have been staying at their cottage at Lake Willough-by during the past week. Some of the ladies gave the church a thorough cleaning last Friday, which it very much needed. They made a great improvement and their work was very much appreciated. Mr. and Mrs.

Maurice Fairbrother, Robert Porter and Miss Alice Smith attended the Oriental dance at Lyndonville Friday evening.
