IS. Winston Churchill's accomplishments at Parta in connection with ths Inter-Allied debt question are understood to bs of much greater Importance than tha public la aware of and even beyond what the Chancellor of the Exchequer hoped to effect when he left London for the inter-AUled financial conference. Mr. Churchill attended the Cabinet meeting this moraine and presented a detailed report of his work at Paris, dealing particularly with tbs headway made la the inter-AUled debt matter. The British aovsrnmsnt.

It Is stated la official quarters, has no Died policy at the present time retarding the Allied debts, but th Cabinet Is considering the question ot a policy and probably will be able to make a formal announcemsnt shortly whsn ths attitude of the other Allies and that of the United Statee la more freely known to the Government. British Ideas on ths subject have been several times etatsd In th Balfour, Canon and Bonar Law notg. but these do not agree In all respect and there la a feeling, par ticularly In vlaw of th progress made at 'Paris, that a- psrmansnt English policy should bs set forth. Tbs Cabinet Is expected, however, to adhere to th mala point stated In the asvsral notes that Great Britain la vitally Interested only In payments by her debtors of amounts ufflcleot to balance her debt to tne United Statee. and that it la con retvable Oreat Britain would be will ing to enter Into aa agrssmsnt to wipe off the debts beyond this amount.

The correspondence that psased bstwsen Mr. Churchill and Finance Minister ef France, on the debt question during ths conference deals with what in ths msln is understood to amount to a re- quest from Francs for a definite statsmsnt of the British attitude oa the debt ssttlemsnt and an expres sion by Franca ot her willingness to esttls the whole question as soon ss possible. This correspondence Mr. inurcn- 111 brought to the Cabinet meeting for consideration. It may.
