According to The Lancet, the well-known English medical weekly, cholera has been epidemic in Marseilles for the last three months. The local offl cials, it is asserted, have carried their policy of deception to such length that even the government had been led astray in regard to the real state of affairs. The prefect ure now admits that there have been 601 deaths from cholera in Marseilles since the middle of May On several days twenty deaths were recorded, and on last Saturday the mortality went up to fifty-two, During the last four weeks there have been 826 deaths from cholera throughout France. I am intensely Interested in the subject, and this takes only a quarter of an hour. In the after noon I look it over and add 5(10 to 600 words, and the sermon is done, In all, I haven't put my hand for over two hours to paper.

She occupied a palace at Cairo, where no less than sixteen foreign ers, some of them of distinguished rank, are known to have met their death. Finally the outcry made by the foreign ministers and envoys became so strong that the khedive was obliged to exile from Egypt this oriental personification of Mar guerite de Bourbon. She is now dead.
