In keeping with his wishes, a private family service has been held "After a wonderful life as an American, I have now begun a new journey, hopefully to rejoin my family and friends that have gone before me. Life was exceptionally good to me.

It carried an enormous quantity of good luck and I always felt that God was close enough to hold my hand when needed. Special thanks to family members that have preceded me in death: Parents, Tom and Ruth, my sisters, Barbara and Virginia who lovingly spoiled me and got me started on a straight and honest path, which stayed with me the whole way, and my wonderful son. Cowboy Bob. A special bit of thanks are due my first wife, Browne. We were high school sweethearts and spent 50 years together (married 46) growing, building a family, pursuing outstanding career opportunities and always in love.

It was through Barbi 's efforts and her nursing profession that we were able to adopt several children in need. It is impossible to imagine what my life would have been like without Barbi. Another special bit of thanks are due my second wife, Mary Broderick Kelly. Mary Kelly came into my life after Barbi died and filled a void of love that appeared to have no bottom. Mary Kelly was born in Ireland and indeed she was an Irish beauty MY Irish beauty.

Both of our families had reached adulthood so we traveled the world, visiting places, enjoying different customs and above all learned to love all over again. We have been married 17 plus years and they were wonderful, loving years. Mary has been my loving caregiver the past few years and there aren't enough words in the English language to explain my deepest love for her. She has stolen my heart. Thanks to our wide spread families and friends.

in my lifetime I have enjoyed more than my share of loving, friendly relationships. In lieu of flowers, if so inclined, please send donations to the ASU Barbara Browne Connors Nursing Scholarship Endowment, P.O. Box 2260, Tempe, AZ 85280-2260. If you wish to leave a message for the family, please visit www.messingermortuary. com, that would please me.

When I was young I felt that it might be possible to leave the United States of America a better place politically than it was when I was born. It didn't happen on my watch and for that, I apologize. America is going to need help from a lot of you in the next few years, so be prepared. One final thought: May God Save America.".
