County HD Council Episcopal Auxiliary Hears Reports Hears Reports Plans Activities The Wilbarger County Home Demonstration Council held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon in the assembly room of the courthouse with Mrs. Phillips, chairman, presiding. Mrs. Hugh Rape acted as secretary. Club reports were given by Mrs.

m. to complete plans for the council's Christmas party scheduled at 2:30 p. m. Dec. 8 at the Yamparika Club house.

Mrs. Martin. Yearbook chairman, announced a final meeting of that committee will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday, Nov.

B. B. Campbell of Knox City. 200 Attend Progress Day At Quanah Swcitl to The Record Quanah, Nov. than 200 people of Hardeman County attended meetings of the Quanah Chamber of Commerce Tuesday to make suggestions for improvements from which the work program for the coming year will be formulated.

Heading the list of suggestions under civic development was the need for an adequate supply of water. This was closely followed by the suggestions that a community center building and public library be strongly considered. Other community needs outlined included additional paving, city-wide beautification and sanitation, expanded park and recreational facilities. Other projects suggested was a continuation of the industrial development program; work toward a diversified farming program: study of the possibility of the reorganization of an area fair; clos-( er co-operation with all farm agencies of the county; work to- i ward better rural roads and the development of an expanded farm- to-market road program; support; the program to extend the rural telephone movement; and lend as- sistance to further development of the farm youth. A session for the junior and se- nior classes were held at the Qua- nah High School with J.

S. Gilli- land, chamber president, acting as chairman. Here the principal topic of discussion was the need for ad-! Uitional class room facilities and the need of a junior high school building. The study of the possi-1 bility for a junior college for Hardeman County was also sug-1 gested. Serving as group chairmen were: Housewives, Miss and Mrs.

Nov. 12, 1953 VERNON DAILY RECORD, 8 Deaths AMBROSE W. ESTES Wichita Falls, Nov. W. Estes, 45, of this city, died Wednesday in a hospital at Waco.

A native of Arkansas, he was a World War II veteran and oil field worker. Funeral services here are incomplete. JAMES N. RILEY Wichita Falls, Nov. 12.

rites for James N. Riley, 79, were held Thursday afternoon at Denison Methodist Church. Mr. Riley had lived in Wichita Falls only five months and died Wednesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. James L.

After entering Texas the roule is through Oklaunion, Vernon, Crowell, Paducah and Plainview, and thence into New Mexico. JAMES H. BLUE Quanah, Nov. rites for James H. Blue, 71, resident of Quanah for 41 years, were held Tuesday in the chapel of the B.

H. Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Burns and Rev. Horton Murphy officiating. Mr.

Blue died in Dallas on Nov. 9. JOHN T. EATON Quanah, Nov. services for John Tate Eaton, 88, were held in the First Baptist Church Thursday with the pastor, Dr.

W. E. Norman, officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Burns and Rev. Horton Murphy.
