The funeral arrangements have not been completed, but the body will be brought to Sheldon where the funeral and burial will take place, probably Monday or Tuesday of next week. Mr.

BAKERSFIELD. Mr, 5 and Mrs. James Perkins are home from the northwest territory and will remain here for the present. Mr. and Alfred Goburn and daughter, Hazel, of Littleton, N.

and W. D. Nutting, of, Brandon, are guests of Mrs. F. G.

Nutting and Miss Carolyn Nutting. Marshal Field, of Woodsville. N. is passing his vattion with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

The farm known as the John Hill place, has again changed hands. Frank Sloan, of Fairfield, has recently purchased the same of S. Caldwell for a consideration of $3,600. The body of Mrs. Munson Hull was brought here from Lancaster, N.

for interment Mrs. Hull had been living with her daughter, Mrs. William Prouty. She is survived by two daughters. Mrs.

Flora Atcheson, of "West Somerville, and Mrs. William Prouty, of Lancaster, N. H. Mr. Hull was drowned in Plerson's mill pond many years ago.

Mrs. Hull was 85 years Christmas and the following' day were the -coldest of the season, the mercury registering from 25 to 30 below zero in the village. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cowan entertained a house party of twelve Christmas day.

and Mrs. C. Towlfr, of Franklin. Wesley Wells, a student at Harvard-College. Cambridge, is passing the holidays at his home here.

Miss Katharine Wilcox, of Morris-ville; is a guest of Dr. and Mrs. W. B. Hyde.

The agricultural extension meeting at the town hall are furnishing excellent Instructive programs every day and evening, this week, excepting Saturday. The opportunity of obtaining such instruction free or cost seems to be generally appreciated. The demonstration given by Mrs. Dimock in home economics received much merited praise.

The basket ball game at the gymnasium Friduy night between the People's Academy team and a team composed of People's Academy alumni was well attended considering the weather. The former team was defeated by a score of 32 to 12. Miss Marian McCarty, who has been passing a few days at her home in Enosburg Falls, returned here Monday. Fred Child, who is attending the Albany, (N. Business College, is at home for the holidays.

John W. Washburn, of Chicago, a fcrne" resident of Richford, is visiting relatives and friends here after an absence 23 years. He was employed on the construction work of the old Canadian Pacific elevator in 1890-M. and on conclusion of this work went West with the contractors. Simpson Robinson, and staved with them several years in elevator construction.

About seven years ago he engaged in building operations in Chicago, and hs continued in that business since. His onlv dauchter died nine years sgo. and Itrs. Washburn about two years neo. The selectmen of this place have issued warning for a special town meet ing to be held in the new town hall Monday.

Florence and Chapman Sheldon recently passed a few days at the home of W. J. Riley. FAIRFIELD. Cornelius McCarthy, aged 82 years, a long time resident of this town, died Friday evening at 6: 50 o'clock of pneumonia at the home of his son, J.

C. McCarthy, where he had made his home for thte past 15 years Br. McCarthy was born in County Cork, Ireland. The funeral of Cornelius McCarthy, who died at the home of his son, J. C.

McCarthy, Fridav evening of pneumonia, was held at St. Patrick's church Monday morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. N. J. Lachanre officiating.

The bearers were Owen McGinn. Mlchiel Ryan, James Conners, and Charles Campbell. The burial was in Holy Cross cemetery at St. Albans. Beside his son, with whom he made his hcrme, Mr.

McCarthy Is survived by two daughter. Mrs. J. H. Malonev, of Olens Falls, N.

and Mrs. C. H. McAllister, of St. Albans, also by 18 grandchildren.
