Word was flashed to the crash boat station at Halifax and the speedy sea-going "detector" headed into the Atlantic to pick up the dinghy. After an eight-hour voyage at a fast clip the detector haul ted alongside the tiny rubber boat, standard equipment on R.CA.F. bombers. The man aboard her was dead of shock and exposure and there was no trace of his fellow crewmen! There was no sign of the plane either but presumably she had crashed Into the ocean and the others had no chance to escape.
