She was born in Florida died Thursday, May Haverhill, Mass. on February 18, 1936 to George and Maria (Hagidakis) Bilmazes. Ms. Bilmazes had been a resident of Venice since 1996 coming from Watertown. Mass.

She worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as Research Biochemist for 31 years retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church, a member of the Opera Guild, member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, she had several publications in scientific journals and was consultant for WHO (World Health Organization), setting, up metabolic 3rd world countries. Survivors include her sister, Aristea DiCarlo of Nokomis, FL; her brother, James Bilmazes of Haverhill, MA; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 P.M.

until 8:00 P.M. at Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel. A Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 10th at 10:00 A.M.

He attended the Fessenden School, The Choate School, earned a Bachelor's Degree from St. Lawrence University and served in the U.S. He was the former of Haigney Securities in Boston, a Vice President of investments for Gruntal Co. and was an arbitrator for the National Association of Security Dealers.

He was the past President of the Boston Investment Club, a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts, the Bond Club of Boston and served on the Membership Committee of the Boston Stock Exchange. He was proprietor of the Boston Athenaeum and a member of the Orleans Yacht Club. in addition to his many professional contributions, he was an avid fisherman, debater, and Red Sox Fan. Dayton leaves his wife Carole (Murray) Haigney. of more than 42 years.
