Moving slowly in the first quarter, the Cadets scored only one touchdown, but they turned on the power in the second and rolled up four. Pitt made only one threat during the half, driving to Army's 13 on an aerial attack which finally bogged down. -Y4- P3 8 of es C3 rV- J4. Army failed to gain and Sauers punt went dead on Pitt's 22. A Riekards-to-Freese pass was good for first down on the 34 but Army held, and Yako-pec's punt went out on the Army 26. A Tucker-to-Wayne pass moved Army 34 yards to Pitt's 40.

Sauer ripped to the 29, and West raced wide and ran the distance for the score. Walterhouse converted. After the kickoff, Rickards' passes moved Pitt to four successive first downs and to Army's 29. Two more passes made first down on the 17. Plunges by Gaugler and a penalty against Army made first down on the 3.

However, Bob Kelly, the hard runner, and Boley Dancewicz, a pasesr who looks like Sammy Baugh, got their attacking gears meshing and the Indiana team rolled to four more in the second period.

Notre Dame won, 64-0. FIRST PERIOD Notre Dame threatened quickly, Bob Kelly sprinting 51 yards to the Dartmouth 15 on the first play after he'd returned the kickoff to his own 34. Nick Fusilli, Indians left guard, held Kelly inches short of a first down on the 6 as he tried a fourth down plunge. A Dart mouth running play failed and Bennett punted poorly out of bounds on his own 32. The Irish then rolled to a score.

After Kelly had lost a couple of yards on a stab off tackle, Boley Dancewicz passed to O'Con nor for 11 yards to the zo. Fitzgerald fumbled on a reverse and Little of Dartmouth recovered on the ND 35, making the third time that Indians had possessed the ball in Notre Dame territory all day.

A pass, Polk to Merritt, took the Greenies to the 19. But the Irish took over and running plays moved the ball to the Irish 40. Then Steve Nemeth crashed through the woe-begotten right side of the Dartmouth line and, picking up blockers, moved 6(J yards to another score. The kick failed. After that the tired Indians managed to hang on, though Marino and Terlep were continually slithering through for long gains. The former made a 50-yard punt return midway in the period but it was partially nullified by a clipping penalty of la yards. Near the end of the period they got going again. They even worked the ancient Statue of Liberty play, Marino taking the ball from Gasparella and dashing 25 yards to the 10. Dartmouth made its first offensive gesture after receiving the kickoff and got all the way to the ND 18 before being thrown back on fourth down to the 32.
