On Saturday evening last, George Avery, a young man who is an attorney by profession, and has resided in this place about four months, bought a suit of clothes of J. Davis Brother. In payment he tendered a check upon the Tltusville Savings Bank for $27 75, as earing the Messrs. Davis that he had money there deposited, and if the check was not good he would make it so. Yesterday morning the check was presented at the bank and refused, as Avery had no money there and never had.

Thereupon Davis Brother had him arrested, and brought before his Honor, Justice Perry. During the examination it also transpired that Avery had presented other checks at the bank, with the signature of J. A. Scott, which were pronounced to be forgeries Avery was held to bail in the sum of $800, to appear before the next Court of Sessions. The case looks decidedly bad for a very.
