In the heavy rain that deluged the city on Saturday night the circus, at Forster and Elder get out of town.

Citizens of that portion of the city will have something to say when the school authorities permit such a show to be located at their doors. A FORGER ARRESTED. A Young Man Arrested While Attempting to Pass a Forged Check. Frederick Paulsen, who said he was from Denmark, was arrested on Saturday evening on a charge of forgery. He purchased a suit of clothes from Strouse's clothing store, adjoining the Hershey House, and tendered in payment a check for $20 on the Harrisburg National Bank, drawn ia favor of Charles Peterson and signed by John Hoffer.

Mr. Strouse did not like the looks of things, and he sent to the Mayor's office for an officer. Lieutenant Kautz arrested Paulsen and took him to the Mayor's office. When searched a number of other checks drawn in favor of Peterson, and purporting to be signed by Mr. Hoffer, were found on the prisoner, together with a silver watch and $10.

The young man seemed very much downcast over his arrest, and persisted in saying that he had receivedthe check from Mr. Hoffer. He was sent to fail for a hearing. It is believed by the officer that Paulsen is only a catspaw for some designing rascal who has thus far kept in the background. Convenient Evening Train for Philadelphia via Pennsylvania Railroad.

One' of the best features of the spring schedule of the Pennsylvania railroad is the new evening express between Harrisburg and Philadelphia. It leaves Harrisburg at 7 :30 P. M. every day, after the arrival of its connection from the Middle division and from Cumberland and Shenandoah Valley points. It cannot fail to prove of marked convenience to the people residing on the line south and west of Harrisburg, as they can leave their homes at a convenient hour of the afternoon and arrive in Philadelphia at seasonable bedtime.

The train makes several stops on the Philadelphia division. It leaves Conewago 7 :56 p. connecting from Lebanon, Lancaster at 8 :35. Bird in hand 8 :50. m. Pastor Bagley Says Farewell. Rev. Isaac W. Bagley, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist church, Camden, preached his farewell sermon last night, and at the close of the service there was an affecting scene.

Men, women and children of the congregation and of the Sunday school gathered about him, wrung his hands and said good by till tears glistened in his eyes. Mr. Bag ley has been pastor of the church nine years, and it has grown wonderfully under his ministration. He will have a reception to morrow night at the residence of S. It.

Look Like Nnval Lieutenants. It is rumored that the conductors and porters on the limited trains are soon to be uniformed in white duck from cap to boots. The uniforms will be trimmed with gold plated buttons and gold epaulets and a tiny black stripe on the pantaloons. Each man, it is said, will be required to carry four uniforms, so that in case one is soiled he will have one at hand in an emergency. The Pullman enmnnnv will mv fV.n lnnnm Kill i 1 ism.

Hartzler prevented him from fulfilling his engagement, so he sent his daughter as a substitute. "Husband, I Wan't Yon to Trylt." Since the advent in this city of Dr. Strong, the excitement not only in this vicinity, but wherever any of the nnmerous patients he has relieved can be found, has been most in tense, and what would be scouted at as too marvelous to be true, is now demonstrated in too palpable a manner to leave room for the slightest doubt or uncertainty. That Dr.

Strong is achieving a vast amount of good in this community no one will attempt to deny who has given the subject the slightest examination. His offices at 339 Market street are thronged with the afflicted of all grades and stations who are anxious to see the doctor and receive a share of the benefits which he seems to bestow upon all who desire them. The doctor does not pretend to cure all diseases no mortal can do that and he should be distinguished from those pretenders and charlatans who boldly and blasphemously proclaim that they hold in their hands the mysteries of life and death. Dr. Strong has been located in Harrisbnrg since April l7rh, and ha will remain nntil August 1st.

He has placed 261 patients under treatment in this city and has refused to treat 104 whom he pronounced incurable. If your case is incnrable his opinion is given to that effect. The names of those he has pronounced incurable can be seen at his office. We would urge upon all sufferers to lose no time delays are dangerous but go at once and see the doctor, and you will be glad to add yonr voice to the testimony in favor of a man who has conferred upon you a benefit in comparison with which all other gifts sink into insignificance, the great and inestimable boon health. Dr.

Strong will remain in Harrisbnrg until August 1 st. At the Troy polytechnic the students have a craze. They paper their ceilings with envelopes of letters from their best girls. AMUSEMENTS.
