The funeral of Miss Annie Summers, who died Tuesday, will take place from the State Street Bethel A.

ML E. church. Interment will be made at Lincoln cemetery. Key. George Stevens, of the Fifth Street M.

E. church, will participate next Sunday evening in the dedication of the new M. E. church at St. Thomas, Franklin county.

A musical and literary entertainment will be given by the Young Women's Christian Temperance Union in Y. M. C. A. hall November 9th.

The proceeds to be donated to the Morning OaU poor fund. The man who insists on laughing out loud during an effective scene, and beating a tattoo with his feet when the orchestra plays a quicks'ep at the Opera House, should be toasted over the footlights. He was there last night. Yesterday afternoon Professor Howard Day, general secretary of the A. M.

E. Zion Church of North America, received a telegram from one of the professors of Livingstone College, North Carolina, announcing the death of the president, Rev. Joseph O. Price, D. D.

ON THE FIVE YAED LINE. Saturday's Game Will Attract a Crowd at Island ParK. A large crowd of foot ball enthusiasts will be on hand at Island Park Saturday to see the game between Washington and Jefferson and Gettysburg. Washington and JtffcrsoD has been training hard and will present a strong rush line, although her eleven will be considerably weakened by the absence of several injured players. Gettysburg is being coached by a U.

of P. man, and if the faculty can be induced to allow the three theological students to play stand good chances of winning. Mr. Harry Jennings, of Andover, will umpire, and Mr. Frank Snodgrass, of Lafayette, will referee the game.

The Washington and Jefferson team will very likely arrive here Friday evening and the Gettysburg team will arrive Saturday morning. The game for next Saturday at Ship pensburg, between the Central high school and the Cumberland Valley normal school has been cancelled. Hi all, '07, has been elected captain of the Dickinson eleven to succeed Ilock man. The game with Franklin and Marshall on Saturday may not come off. Yesterday was full of foot ball surprises.

John Ureen, of Philadelphia, wearing a sailor's rig, was arrested at Johnstown Monday evening while trying to beat his way home from the World's Fair between two blind baggage cars attached to the first section of" Philadelphia Express.

Charles Price, of the P. li. freight office, returned this morning from Chicago. His traveling partner, John Fitz gerald, a clerk in lrainmaster bcanlon office, preceded him homeward. About 9:30 this morning the last vestige last evening's freight wreck below the Mulberry street bridge was removed and wreck train steamed up to the yards with its load of broken timbers and twist iron work.
