THE BUFFALO EVEfilNG TIKES, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1S03. LIEN WITH illlllML OF THEATERS m. HAS NEVER BEEN ANYTHING TO EQUAL IT fj "JWITCHBAGK" MIPERAMS Among the bread Winners In all classes of society are to be found men who compose the real salt of the earth, and who are typically the nefvous tem-peramented men men of Impulse, energy, restless activity, and strong ambition. These are the men who have what we may call temperaments, in which states of despair and hope alternately sway and guide their actions. Their descent to one state is rapid, and equally so is their ascent to the other.

Their daily pendulum of life swings quickly between the two extremes. Nature has endowed them with an exuberant nerve force, and not the least dangerous circumstances of their lives are those which tend to its suppression or misdirection. Such men think quickly, walk quickly, eat quickly. In their case, worry, brain-tire, physical exhaustion and consequent Inability to fulfill engagements or discharge duties, pro- duce instability in mental action, which Is quickly followed by Irritability and general depression. These are the patients" who are told that it is their liver, or it is dyspepsia, they need tonics, etc.

But their dissipated nerve energy is really the cause of their ailment and the visceral organs become1 ir-volved secondarily. It Is their lowered nerve tone that causes uistaste for food, distress after eating, constipation, ringing in the ears, insomnia, nervousness, dry tongue, uncertainty of gait, pranks of memory, and a hundred other symptoms that are usually ascribed to some other cause.
