Yesterday, the Crusaders were blue as they suffered a 30-14 loss to Buckneli in Patriot League play at frozen Fitton Field. The Crusaders are 2-7 after suffering their biggest loss of the season. Their previous biggest loss had been by 11 points.

Holy Cross trailed, 16-0, before rallying to make it 16-14 with two touchdowns in the third quarter. "Losing isn't fun at all, but we did make a comeback," said coach Dan Allen. "We're a young team and we didn't pack it in. We'll get better. We faced adversity again, but I feel we will learn from that and get better as we go along." The Bisons scored twice in the first quarter.

Ron Slaughter picked up a blocked punt and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown and Ross Co- Punt returns 5-73 3-8 leman kicked a 43-yard field goal. Jason Marrow scored the first of his two touchdowns at 14:21 of the second. The third quarter belongedto Holy Cross and sophomore wide; receiver Dan Visalli. At 10:26 of the third, Visalli threw a 54-yard touchdown pas9-to Steve Green on a flea-flicker. Moments later, after Holy Cross made an interception, Visalli caught a 10-yard pass from quarterback Ryan Collar and used a pick to race 73 yards for the touchdown.

Visalli took three direct hits on the plily, then escaped three more defenders before cutting loose. With three catches for 90 yards and touchdown throw, Visalli received the Eddie' Anderson Memorial Trophy as the game's outstanding player. Said Visalli of his pass, ''If something that we practiced fajll week. Ryan lateraled it to me, therj, I saw Steve all alone at the 30 and allj I had to do was throw the ball in his direction." Of his touchdown, Visalli said, "I just got the ball where I was supposed to catch it and felt the I didn't go down. I just kept spinning and in my mind I knew I had to kep going.

I felt other hands on me but after a few seconds I was "This was a great win for 'Us' said Buckneli coach Tom Gadd. "We had a good lead, we relaxed loo much, and we got back on track and scored again when we had to. 17 Brown Harvard rallied from an early 2-0 soccer deficit at Ohiri Field yesterday for a 2-2 tie with 17th-ranked i Brown. Sean Keenan was at his best when it counted most, completing 17 of 32 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns yesterday as Williams extended its undefeated record to 7-0 with a stunning 57-19 homecoming' romp over Wesleyan in a New England Small 1001031. College Athletic Conference showdown at Williamstown. The loss dropped the Cardinals, who could not stop Keenan, to 5-2. Keenan's longest pass of the day was a 63-yard scoring bomb to senior Matt Sigrist, who caught nine passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns.

The Ephs produced a dominating attack that included 145 yards rushing by Fred Storz, who averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 26 tries and scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards in the first quarter when Williams took control with a 14-0 lead. Despite the Williams dominance, Wesleyan quarterback Jake Fay had an impressive day of his own, completing 20 of ,39 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown. Bowdoin 49, Bates 14 Hayes MacArthur completed 13 of 19 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns as the Polar Bears romped past the Bobcats at Brunswick, Maine. Amherst 32, Trinity 18 Peter Honig passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns as the Lord Jeffs raced to a 17-0 halftime lead and coasted over the Bantams in Hartford. Tufts 24, Colby 7 Senior quarterback Dan Morse of Randolph broke a 7-7 tie by scoring on a 1-yard burst with 36 seconds left in the first half, and Brian Holmes returned the second half kickoff 87 yards for a score to lift the Jumbos in Medford.

Conference Junior running back Anthony Pirri of North Attleboro scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns on runs of 10 and 5 yards as Salve Regina roared back from a 10-3 deficit for a 17-10 victory over UMass-Dartmouth in a showdown of undefeated Blue Division teams at North Dartmouth. The victory, the eighth straight for the Seahawks (8-1, 5-0) after an opening-game 14-7 loss to Frostburg State, featured the running of Mark DiBiasio, Jeff Wright, and Pirri. DiBiasio, a junior from North Attleboro, led the way with 100 yards on 29 carries, Wright added 66 on eight carries, and Pirri had 38 yards on 11 carries, but came up big with the touchdown runs. Curry 29, UMass-Boston 14 Sophomore quarterback Steve Santos completed 7 of 9 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score as the Colonels continued their remarkable turnaround with the victory in Dorchester. Santos hooked up with Tony Giannetti on touchdown passes 6f 67 and 6 yards, and ran 4 yards for Curry's first score.

Curry, which was 0-10 last year, improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the Hue Division. Maine Maritime 13, Worcester St. 7 Chris Pelletier threw for 183 yards and one touchdown and Steve Tardif rushed for 102 yards on 31 carries, including an 18-yard fourth-quarter touchdown that snapped a 7-7 tie, giving the Mariners the triumph at Castine, Maine. Westfield State 16, Nichols 14 Dean DiGregorio of Melrose hit tight end John Frasco of Chicopee with a 15-yard scoring pass with 48 seconds remaining to give the Owls the victory at Westfield.
