SCOBEL WIGGINS Entertainer 7 Closing production for theater mixes adult, teen actors' into period drama SlilOGfl OJteSQ The Entertainer ALBANY Albany Civic Theater's ACTeen production of "David & Lisa" opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Additional performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sept 1, 2 and 3 and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28." The closing production for the 2004-05 ACT season includes a combination of adult and teen actors. Half of the teens performing in the play participated in ACTs teen theater program, which holds monthly workshops from September through June, t The program, which was started about five seasons ago, is designed to introduce young people to the full-rage of on-stage and off-stage theatrical skills, and ends the -workshop season with a teen production. The adult cast includes ACT veterans Charles Prince, who performed in "Puttin on the Biti and Kay Roth, who performed in "Rocky Horror Picture Show "David & Lisa is based on the book by Theodore Isaac Rubin and the screenplay written by Eleanor Perry for the 1962 film by the same name. David is afraid of being touched, and Lisa has dual personalities. The institution is a cross between a border school and a hospital. Prince said, and portrays the development of their relationship over the course of a term. ; The themes in this play are universal. Prince said. The language and the fact that institutions like the one depicted do not exist anymore are what make this play a period drama.
