PERNA-Of Waltham Dr. Albert F. 'Boots' Beloved husband of Annie E. 'Bettv' (Du- Obituaries Davis T.Gallison, 72 Physician aided cancer patients Davis T. Gallison, a physician dedicated to providing comfort to cancer survivors and their families, died Tuesday in his Marion home after suffering a heart attack just four days after the death of his wife of 50 years, Jill B.

Gallison. He was 72. Dr. Gallison grew up in Newton. He attended Dean Academy and Brown University and received his medical degree from Tufts Medical School.

He did two tours in the Army Medical Corps, serving in World War II and the Korean War. In 1957, he established a pactice in Marion, and rose to chief of staff at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. After his retirement, he founded Strength for Tomorrow, a nonprofit support group for cancer patients and their families. A 10-year survivor of cancer himself, he led a group of volunteers who helped ease pain and celebrate life. For many years, he appeared with Len Roberts and other hosts on a Sunday radio call-in show on WBSM in New Bedford to help listeners cope with cancer.

He leaves two sons, Davis T. 3d of Duxbury and Andrew J. of Ware-ham; three daughters, Cheryl Drink-water of Marion, Melissa of Rochester, N.Y., and Robin Ann Lake of Santa Monica, and four grandchildren. A combined memorial service will be held April 27 at 3 p.m. at the Wickenden Chapel at Tabor Academy in Marion.

Julius Abrams, 93 Graveside service today A graveside service will be held today for Julius Abrams, a founder and former president of Poley-Abrams Corp. in Boston, who died Thursday in Coolidge House Nursing Care Center in Brookline. He was 93. Mr. Abrams was born in Lithuania and immigrated to the United States at the age of 6.

As a schoolboy during World War he signed on to work at a West Virginia construction site, while wartime manpower shortages existed. Since he was too small to wield a pick and shovel, he was 'assigned to the civil engineering division. Mr. Abrams attended Northeastern University, at the time a small YMCA-affiliated school, on a cooperative education program that allowed him to alternate work periods with schooling. He graduated in 1925.

In 1945, he cofounded Poley-Abrams a construction and engineering firm, with his late partner, Abraham Poley. i He was a former member of the state design selection board and a corporator of Lesley College and Northeastern University, which awarded him an honorary doctorate in engineering in 1973. He leaves his wife, Eva (Hodess); a daughter, Fay Wilgoren of Brookline; two sons, Benjamin of Newton and Philip of Boca Raton, two brothers, Benjamin of Revere and Abe of Stoneham; a sister, Goldie Brower of Revere; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. in Temple Emeth Cemetery in West Roxbury.

Mark's School in Southborough and at Weston High School. In 1956, he began a 25-year career at the Jarrell-Ash Co. in Waltham where he worked as an engineer servicing spectrographic instru-. ments. He traveled internationally servicing accounts and spoke many different languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese and Russian.

i He enjoyed music, home carpentry, amateur telescope-making, stained-glass work, and devise a plan for producing 3-D images of constellations. He was also involved in photographic and stereo societies. He leaves his wife, Roberta (Berry) of Natick; three daughters, Mar-tha Sid Ahmed of Atlanta, Ellen of Quincy and Phyllis Humez-Edsoir of North Thetford, Vt; two sisters, Eloise Evans of Chevy Chase, Mot, and Bertha Hatvary of New York City; and three grandchildren. Vierstra, 32 Engineer from Concord Bruce C. Vierstra of Concord, a mechanical engineer for Polaroid died Thursday as the result 6f an accident. He was 32. Born in Concord, Mr. Vierstra attended Concord High School, graduating in 1982.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnical Institute, graduating with high honors. While at Worces-ter Polytech, he was a member 'of the Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering National Honor Society and the Engineering National Honor Society. He later received a master's degree in mechanical robotics from Purdue University. After graduation in 1988, Mr. Vierstra was recruited by Polaroid.

He invented the camera-opening device which was instrumental in the development of Polaroid's Captiya camera. Mr. Vierstra was a member-of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was also recognized by the Ninth World Congress on the theory of machines and mechanisms. He was a member of the Jubilee Christian Center in Peabody.

He leaves his wife, Cathleen (Clark), and three daughters, Amelia, Victoria and Clara, all of Concord; his parents, Louise (Hicks) 2nd Andrew Vierstra of Henderson, three brothers, Scott of Canl Winchester, Ohio, Brian of Northampton, and Kai of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a sister, Kim, of Brighton. She liked to take short walks each day, often stopping along the route to visit galleries and historic buildings. There are no immediate survivors. Burial will be Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. A memorial service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Trinity Church in Copley Square.
