Phone 20 First at Lyon Street Albany, Oregon Albany is to be congratulated upon the contemplated opening of the Venetian theater next Tuesday, bringing back to this community a pleasure rendezvous for every family in Albany.

Albany is also to be congratulated upon the entrance into its business community of Mr. Frank Horrigan, who comes to us with a reputation for honesty and integrity, for energy and enterprise, and above all, for his willingness to cooperate with his fellows of the community in making that community more prosperous, more contented and a better place in which to live. Mr. Horrigan, in taking over and rebuilding what was formerly the Globe Theater into the beautiful new Venetian theater, has announced his intention of moving his family to Albany and actually becoming a part of this community. The management of the Venetian has signified its intention of securing for theater-lovers of Albany only the very best pictures from the motion picture studios; the extensive program of renovation and redecoration now in progress is visual proof that every effort is being expended toward making the New Venetian the real bright spot in our community.

We, the city officials, the business men, the civic leaders, and the. residents of Albany, should take the opportunity afforded by the opening of the Venetian next Tuesday to heartily and sincerely welcome Mr. Horrigan to Albany. VIRGIL L. CALAVAN, Mayor.
