The fasting will end this During these twenty four hours no adult Jew partakes of food or drink, but spends the time in prayer. The observance of the day is commanded in Leviticus.

Agnes Everhart, aged 10 years, who resided with her grandmother, Mrs. Kate Fritz, on Tenth street, was kidnapped on Friday night by two rough looking men and a woman named Davenport. They placed her in a wagon and drove to Williams grove. She escaped while en camped there, but was recaptured after she had walked some distance. The party subsequently traveled to a grove in ranklln county.

Here the girl was sent on an errand, and failed to return, She placed herself under the protection of a man named Carter, who mado infor mation against the kidnappers at Green castle. At a hearing they were discharged and the cirl will be returned to her friends in this city. Personal. Misa Florence Hart entertained a num ber of friends very delightfully last even ing.
