TRY IT TO DAY For sale by Forney A Enouse, druggists, 436 Market street, Harrlsburg, Fa. The Aerophor. In weaving sheds a humid atmosphere is of equal importance, otherwise there is a continual breaking cf threads and other prejudicial occurrences. Tbe necessary diffusion of moisture has hitherto been secured at the expense of the comfort, and even the health cf the factory hands, by the projection of etcum into rim Atmosphere nnd by dampenia floors with water. Iu either enso damage is caused tc the machinery and bnildinys, while an unhealthy atmosphere is created iu which the operatives are obliged to work.

In order to obviate all this the aerophor haa been invented by a German engineer, and is largely in una in Germany. The aerophor is an apparatus for distributing moisture in the form of a very Gne water cloud, which may be either cold or warm. The apparatus, which is net large, contains no movable parts, and a single pressure pump lean work any number of aeropbors. The contrivance, which is fixed just under the ceiling at given points, consists of two separate nozzles, one for propellmgtue air by creating an induced current, and the other for moistening it. A jet of water under pressure is projected through a horizontal nozzlo Into a casing In which there is a vertical nozzle.

The jet from the horizontal nozzle causes the induced current of air to act upon the water entering the casing at its upper part through the vertical nozzle. The water is passed into the atmosphere in the form of a fine diffusive cloud, the largo drops of water being caught and retained by the apparatus. The aerophor will only project into the atmosphere such particles of water as are capable of being absorbed immediately, so that damage to the machinery or fabric is impossible. In the same way, the atmosphere not being super saturated, there is no iDjury tc health. London Times.

Educate the Girls. "Educate the girls," says an exchange, and the boys will soon be there." They will, indeed, if the girls are tolerably good looking. And they won wait until tbo course of instruction is fully completed either. I have known a young man to get more than half through his courting before he thought to ask his girl whethershe had any education or not. So it won't do to depend too much on such maxims as the above; they are apt to mislead.

Should the father of an attractive daughter defer her education, thinking that the boys would keep away in consequence, he would find that he bad made a mistake. They will come just as readily as they would were she a whole female seminary of learning. TheD, on the other hand, if you push the education of a homely, disagreeable girl with the utmost diligence, will the boys "be there?" Not much they won't. They will go around the corner and sit up with the pretty girl who never saw the inside of a school house in her life. This is perhaps wrong, but it is the way the world goes with the young and thoughtless.

When Adam was courtiria the fair Eve, did be inquire what seminary she graduated from? Did he examine her in arithmetic, English grammar, logic, geography and the use of the globes? Of course he didn't. lie didn't care a cent whether she knew beans or not. She wasn't educated, and yet Adam was there, Eli. Education is a very good thing for girls to have, but you can't bank on it altogether in winning husbands. Texas Sittings.

Coughing and Sneezing. Nurses have to deal with many cases in which the effort and muscular contraction caused by the exertions of sneezing, cough iDg and hiccoughing are very weakening and trying to le patient. Sneezing is produced by both external and internal causes. Externally, by particles of irritatingdust in the air and sometimes by sunlight, or intense color; internally, by disordered nervous conditions, and it is commonly associated with whooping cough, asthma and gout. Pressure upon the fifth nerve will often temporarily prevent sneezing as pinching the upper Hp under the nose.

The application of mustard to the back of the neck will often relieve it; and in violent cases an emetic has been used with good results. Coughing may be relieved in a variety of ways and, agaiu, every attempt may avail nothing; but the nurse should pay especial attention to the posture of the person, and learn that position which most removes the tendency to frequent coughing. Again, coughing may be induced by a tickling sensation in the throat, which some very simple soothing mixture or drink may relieve, as slippery elm tea, Irish moss, licorice, etc. Then, too, many persons cough from habit. Many times a little exercise of will would postpone the effort.

Pittsburg Dispatch. Tanned Human Skin. "The outrage at Canyon City reminds me of a man's skin which I once saw tacked to the walls of a log houso at Fort Halleek," said Col. Hoyt at the Albany hotel. "The work had been artistically done and reminded mo more of a gigantic animal skin stretched out to dry.

The man had been caught in a dastardly act at the fort and a bullet from the commandant put a very sudden cud to his career. Tho slciu was left for many months on the wall of the but, but was finally carried off, piece by piece, by relic hunters. The body was chucked into a barrel, which was placed on tbe prairie nloiit 100 feet from the trail leading to the west. As time passed a dep path was worn by travelers lca ig ths public road to take a glance at the strange contents of the barrel." Denver News. A Washings.

In five years of observation at Lincoln, New Zealand, Air. Georgo Gray has found that tbe amount of impurity washed down from the air by the rain depends more on the number cf tihowera than on tbe total rainfall. An acre of land at Lincoln receives annually (in 28.9 inches of rain) about 175 pounds of dissolved matter, including 00.5 pounds of chlorine, 15 pounds of sulphuric anhydride, and alittle more than 2 pounds of nitrogen. Nearness to the sea explains tho high proportion of chlorine. Arkansaw Traveler.

The Massachusetts school boy expects at least two lickings per week, and he is seldom disappoint ed.

Detroit Freo Press, A commission of French experts has decided that the best means of rapidly refrigerating viands and preserving them at a low temperature consists in spreading a refrigerating liquid over a mass of coke.
