Simmental association plans sale here Plans are underway for the 3rd annual "performance selected" sale by the Kansas Simmental association to be Dec. 1 in Salina. Sale chairman Jack Teagarden, LaCygne, said the sale will be at the Farmers and Ranchers Commission here. Consignors will be limited to members of the Kansas Simmental association and consignments will be limited to females except for one or two selected purebJood bulls. All catties must be registered in the American Simmental association.

Entry forms, rules and other information may be obtained from Teagarden, RFD 2, LaCygne, or Bob Dickinson, advertising chairman, Gorham. Hobbies and clubs Mrs. A. F. Reinhardt and Mrs.

Glenn Peterson placed first with a score of 63 Va in a session of the Elks Ladies Duplicate Bridge club. There were 5 2 tables with an average of 54 for the Howell movement played at the downtown Elks club. Also placing were Mmes. C. G.

McCargar and Hazel Williams, 2nd, 61 Vz, and Beryl Mitchell and L. Schmidt, Solomon, 3rd, 60V2. There were 6 tables with an average of 67 in a session of the Elks Duplicate Bridge club. The Howell movement was played at the downtown Elks club. Placing were Mrs.

Dan Gugler, Abilene, and Mrs. Charles Aplin, Solomon, 1st, 83; Mrs. Evelyn Brummett, Concorida, and Mrs. John Browning, 2nd, 82V2, and Mr. and Mrs.

Jerry Belt, 3rd, 81. In an earlier charity game of the group at the downtown club, there were 10 tables for the Mitchell movement. The average was 104. Placing were: North-south--Mrs. Dean Worley and Mrs.

Fred Wilson, 1st, 125V2, and Mrs. Carl Reese and Jack Shade, 2ndi 123Vz, and east-west--Mr, and Mrs. Belt, 1st, 127, and Mrs. Gugler and Mrs. Aplin, 2nd, 119.

Mrs. Hazel Williams and Mrs. Thelma Stull placed first with a score of 99 in a session of the Salina Duplicate Bridge club at the Hilton Inn. There were 7 tables with an average of 78 for the Howell movement. Also placing were Mrs.

William Siebert and Mrs. Jerry Belt, 2nd, 92, and Mr. and Mrs. A. F.

Reinhardt, 3rd, 88. The club will meet Monday and June 11 at the Holiday Inn for its sessions. The Salina Twirlers Square Dance club will sponsor an 8 pm dance Friday at the IOOF Recreation hall, 411 E. Walnut. Conrad Butler, Joplin, will be the caller.

A potluck'dinner will follow. More counties on disaster relief list WASHINGTON (AP) The Office of Emergency Preparedness today designated additional Kansas counties as eligible for disaster relief assistance for damage resulting from April floods. Earlier, 54 counties were designated for relief and the office today added 10 additional counties. They are: Douglas, Franklin, Greenwood, Lea- venvvorth, McPherson, Osage, Republic, Wabaunsee, Woodson and Wyandotte. Campus floats ORANGE, Calif.

(AP) Students who want to get places at Chapman College this summer will step on campus in California, attend seminars afloat on the Pacific Ocean and go to classes on Tahiti and the Fiji Islands. The students will pay trom $1,000 to about $1,500 to enroll in a five-week summer session on the college's World Campus Afloat, The campus is an ton passenger vessel converted for classroom and laboratory study as well as college living. The floating campus sails from Los Angeles June 16, staffed by professors expert on the culture, religion, economics and government of the peoples of the South Pacific. There will be study stops at Tahiti, the Fiji Islands, New Guinea and the Philippines. The session ends July 21 at Hong Kong.

The students can either fly back to Los Angeles or pay additional fees to sail on a second five-week session that will take them to Taiwan, Korea, Japan and the Hawaiian Islands. Some grad schools are more exciting than others. The Air Force's Officer Training School is a 12-week program that can turn a graduate into an Air Force officer. And, it can give him the chance to go on to flight school and become a pilot or navigator. Check out a future where the sky's no limit.
