Cumberland Life Sunday, November 2, 2014 CIO The Sentinel ments, the student receives a bachelor's degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Army. All scholarship students incur a military service obligation of eight years, which may be fulfilled by either serving on active duty or in the Reserve Components of the Army. The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees, as well as an annual book allowance, and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year the scholarship is in effect. Upon graduation from college and completion of the ROTC program require of Red Land High SchooL Stewart completed an intensive, eight -week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Gregory A. Kabusk received an Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) scholarship to attend the University of Pittsburgh. He is the son of Kathrine and George Kabusk, of New Cumberland, and a 2013 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School. Wood, Missouri, and a 2012 graduate of Carlisle Area High School. During the nine-week training period, Thompson received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.

Air Force Airman Joshua M. Stewart graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. He is the son of Chris and Ellen Stewart, of New Cumberland, and a 2012 graduate Lackland, San Antonio. The course of instruction included basic military training and advanced individual training.
