PRJDAV, DECEMDCR 7, 1962 THE CHILDRESS INDEX, CHILDRESS, TEXAS PAGE Texas, Arkansa Dominate All-Southwest Conference DALLAS (UPI) Champion Texas and runner- up Arkansas, i played just as dominant roles in the makeup of the 1962 Unit Press International all- Southwest Conference football team as they did in the title race by winning! seven of the 11 honor team berths. and guard Ray Trail Kay Sehoenke, who Tommy ForQ, Texas halfback, polk'd 77 to 82. was the second best vote-getter This trio boasted better than a among the backs with 84, while teammate Scott Appleton won the tackle slot opposite Mazzanti and all-America guard Johnny Treadwell of Texas dominated the guard voting with 86 3-to-l margin over any other tackle. Bobby Mangum of TCU pushed Trail for the other guard spot, polling 61 points to 68. as they nearly doubled their closestj Southern Methodist and Texas Christian, with 2-5 and 5-2 conference records, failed to win a sport.

Arkansas won two places in the backfield and two in the line, while Texas placed one back and two linemen. The quarterback Billy Moore came the closest to being a unanimous choice, polling 89 of a possible 95 points, as he headed up an Arkansas contingent composed of halfback Jesse per. second team line included Tommy Lucas of Texas and Tom Magoffin of TCU at the ends; Sehoenke and Texas Melvin Simmons at tackle; Mangum and Bobby Burk at guards, and Hughes at center.
