A fire which completely deuiol- ished the.Ureter OttawaLum. bar, 8ah and Door ractory plant on Parkdale Avenue, Hintonbnrg, broke out at noon to-day, just aa the employees laga leaving for dinner.

The origin of the fire ia unknown, but it started in the stock shed. The fire brigade was 'early on the scene, but the strong wind which was blowing had fanned the flames, and there was little hope of aaving the plant. The mill, aa stated, was burned down, aa well as the stock shed. The latter building contained about $60,000 worth of About seventy men were employed by the company, but these were all able to get out aafely. The last two to leave, however, had to get out by window.

Two small frame houses were in danger of eatchine fire, but were taved, thougrfVery much scorched.
