Saturday, windy, cold day for soccer in Decatur and Alvord In soccer action Saturday Drive In beat Land house 2 0. Scores were made by Regge Johnson and Curtis Blase in the second half of the game. Ray's coach, Kathie Hilton recognized Jerry Askey, Tony Judy Upton, Shane Wheeler, Johnnie Schumacher and David Jackson for real good defense and offense. Making a lot of saves for the team were Cody Swimford, David Howard and Askey. Sherri Bradshaw, Land house coach, expressed that the first half was super with their goalie Monty Garrett and the whole team playing good defense.

She felt the wind had a lot of control of the ball and no scores came in the first half. Very good offense plays by forwards, Mark Shults and Bart Mueller, helped Arma team, Allied Agency, outscore Long Oil 3-0. Scores were made by Gddie Jolly in the first half and Tony Meador and Wes Hardee in the second. Mrs. Mueller also recognized halfbacks, Monty Martin, Shawn Grundy and Jeff Meador for their good plays.

Dub Little, Long coach, recognized good defense on the part of two of his players, Mark North and Donovan Tanner. Another game in the Under 14 league was played in Alvord. 100 Tires whipped Market 2-1. In the Under 10 league State Farm and Decatur Convalescent Center battled to a 0-0 tie. State Farm coach, Lia Schwab, felt all her players were outstanding and noted Troy Springs, Brent Henry, Ronnie Elliott, Eddie Thompson and Brett Butler for good offense and Rubin Cantu, Scott Frazier and Amy North for their good job.

She expressed an excellent job by Darla Downe as goalie. Don Ruth, DCC coach, recognized his players for a job well done and thought they deserved at least one score. Good passing and dribbling by Robby Brooks, Melanye McFerrin, Jimmy Warden and David Parrish assisted the scores made by Trenton Lewis, Bryan Pennartz and Ricky Moore.

The couple recognized good defense by goalies, Billy Hardee and Mike Allen, assisted by Kevin Taylor and Cathy Meador, accounted for only one score by the opposing team. Wood coach, Jana Wood ruff, felt all her players played well. Their lone score came from Neil Fitch. In a game in Alvord, Pac-a-Sac of Alvord defeated Valu-Rite of Bridgeport 3-1. Pac a-Sac is coached by Ray Patterson.

In the under 8 league, Norton Plumbing Cowboys, beat Trucking 2-0. Cowboy coach, Harold Stokes, recognized all his players for playing a great game. Goals were made by Jeffery Thatcher and Cody Wheeler. Captains for were Timmy Hardee and Sharia McFerrin. Coach Paula Berg noted good offensive plays by David Porter and Caroline Clanton and outstanding defensive plays by Craig Fitch, Michael Gregory, Milton Hardee and Goalie Teresa Hilton.

Poco Graphite whipped a Bridgeport team sponsored by Don Erwin Insurance and the First National Bank 4-1. Poco coach, Mae Ridgway recognized Brent Craft and Billy Claborn as good goalies. Joe Jolly, assisted by Edward Parrish, and Cameron Sampler, assisted by Jason Richards, made scores in the first half. One second half score came from Chris Miller assisted by Sonja South. Noted for good defense were Corby Ridgway, Liza Dodson, Jason Schwab and Holly South.

Jan Jowitt made Bridgeport's lone score. Mike Wallace drove the ball down the field for the score. Coach David Duncan expressed a good job by all his players. In the Under 6 league, in a game played in Alvord, McCurdy Feed defeated Hancock Trucking 2-1. Shawn Burrow scored first point.

Hancock's team also scored a point for McCurdy. Recognized as outstanding players by their coach, Judy Moore, were Brandi Chapman, Dustin DoByns, Mikki East, Steven Long and Shannon Johnson. Captains were Bratton Williams and Caleb Morria. Play ing as goalie for the entire game was Pamela Moore. Hancock's Trucking in Alvord is coached by Jackie Dunson.

Ford Trucking was defeated by Montgomery Ward 8 0 Scores came in the first half from Kelley Solomon, scoring two, assisted by James Miller, Todd McCormick, assisted by Jason Wren and Andy North, assisted by Steven Terrell. Goalie for the first half was Chris Fostel. In the second half, Solomon and McCormick each made a point and North made two. Jason Tibbies was goalie. Recognized for good defense by their coach, Brenda Rotramble, were Rusty Nunnelee, Che Rotramble, Michael Vera and Roxamma Amonett.

Sheila Hardee, Ford Trucking coach, felt even though her team had several ill they played an impressive game and was proud of all of them. Noted for good plays were Steven Roberts, Shannon Hesteande, Rusty Christian, Shanda Cox and Cheryl Clanton. JOHN CLAY CO. Boyd Texas The Possum Kingdom Relays at Graham was not the best place in the country for' E-Gals to enter a track meet Saturday. The competition was tough and the Decatur girls failed to win a single event. The best they could do was a second place finish for Kim Zumar in the shot put. Bridgeport, on the strength of their relay teams performances came in third in total team points. Decatur won seventh and Jacksboro was in tenth place.

Clyde won the event with a grand total of 173 points, taking a wide lead over second place Breckenridge which had only 82.
