Miners Stun BYU EL PASO (AP) Defensive back Danny Taylor intercepted a Robbie Bosco pass in Texas-El Paso's own end zone and raced 100 yards for a touchdown to put the Miners on top for good Saturday night in a stunning 23-16 upset of defending national champion and seventh-ranked Brigham Young. The Western Athletic Conference win was the first of the season for Texas-El Paso in seven outings, four of which were league games. UTEP had one of the worst records among major colleges in recent history, having won only 14 of 121 games in the last 11 years including this season. The Cougars, who had defeated Texas-El Paso in the two teams' last 14 meetings, fell to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in WAC play.
