Indiana lost its second game in three starts last night against Ken- lucky. Indiana Loses Second Game In Three Starts By United Press International They didn't look like the defending national champions, especially in the first half. And they certainly didn't look like the defending national champs playing on their home court.

"We did some things in the first half like we had never been on the court," said Indiana Coach Bobby Knight, following fifth-ranked Kentucky's 66-51 victory Monday night over the 12th-ranked Hoosiers in Bloomington, Ind. "Defensively we did a pretty good job, but we couldn't get any pressure on the offensive end of the floor. Our offense in the first half was the key to the game." The defeat snapped Indiana's 35-game winning streak on their home court and marked the first time in Knight's six years as coach that the Hoosiers, now 1-2, have been below .500. Kentucky jumped to a 36-15 advantage and led at halftime, 38-21. "Early in the game we did what we wanted to do, accomplished what we wanted- to accomplish and maintained our poise," Kentucky Coach Joe Hall said.

"(Jay) Shidler gave us the outside shot' when we wanted the outside shot. We had difficulty going inside, but when we did, we kicked it back outside." Indiana trimmed the Wildcats lead to 13 points three times in the second half, the last time at 64-51 with two minutes to go. Should there be an extension jf the antlerless deer season in any part or parts of the state on December 18,. the prohibition against hunting most other species will also apply on that day. During the regular firearms deer seasons, the only species that may be lawfully hunted are deer and migratory game birds which are still "in season." Raccoons may also be hunted between sunset and surnrise during the firearms deer seasons.

The ban on hunting most species in deer seasons started in 1974. It is designed to prevent shooters from hunting for a second deer after having taken their first whitetail. Previously, such shooters often claimed they were hunting foxes, chipmunks, etc. The ban on hunting most species -now precludes giving this reason as an excuse. Deer Tagging Hunters are reminded that deer left in cold storage or processing plants must be tagged.

The official tag provided as a part of the hunting license should clearly show the county from which the deer was taken, and the tag should be attached and remain attached to the deer head, rather than the carcass. A separate tag provided by the hunter or processor should be placed on the carcass. Deer heads are collected during and following the season and are examined by research biologists. The information gathered is critical in the formation of the Pennsylvania Game Commission's deer management program. Dress Deer Successful deer hunters in Pennsylvania are urged by the Game Commission not to dress out deer along roads.

The task should be performed back in the woods, where entrails will not be unsightly and offensive to motorists and landowners. 18 as Marquette handed Western Michigan its first loss in four'games. Phil Ford scored 18 points and North Carolina built an 18-point halftime lead as the Tar Heels won their third victory in four Pens Take On North Stars PITTSBURGH (UPI) The i Penguins, encouraged by recent brilliant go alt ending, take on the Minnesota North Stars tonight, confident they can resume their upward move in the National Hockey League standings. The Penguins are only four points but of second place in the Morris Division and a victory tonight would cut it down to two points because Los Angeles is idle. as they prepare to host Indiana High School this Friday night.

Kittanning is scoring an average of 69 points over three games and have held the opposition to just 41. other games, Shannock Valley takes the number one defensive team in the area to Brockway tonight in search for its third consecutive win of the season, Worthington hosts WPSD, Union goes to West Forest, Freeport visits Leechburg, Kiski Prep hosts Elderton, Redbank Valley meets Franklin and Dayton travels to Clarion. (UPI) A moment of silence for a likable man who seldom was silent was the final tribute paid Monday to the late Danny Murtaugh.

After a five-minute eulogy for Murtaugh, who died last Thursday after a stroke, the priest who celebrated a funeral mass asked for a moment of silence. The Rev. Francis P. O'Reilly said the moment was "to think how Danny entered into our life and influenced our life and what we can do to say, "Thank you Danny Murtaugh, 59, who died just two months after he retired as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, was buried in Sts.
