Fire Damages Worthington Area Home An early morning fire gutted a five-room house in West Franklin Township today. The fire, at the home of Thomas Shankle, Worthington RD 2, was spotted at 7:30 a.m. by a neighbor who notified firemen. Worthington firemen were at the scene for about 45 minutes and then called for assistance from East Franklin Township and West Kittanning i companies after thick white smoke began pouring from the two-story wood-frame house located near Franklin Union Baptist Church.
