The couple are two of the city's brightest and most promising lawyers even though Kathy may have some explaining to do when Neil finds out about Kathy's interview with Regis. But it was all in good fun, which most appropriately put the whole evening in perspective.

Philbin pulled five willing females from the audience in what he termed his never-ending talent search. Both he and his track record suggest longetivity as a co-host with him is not such a good bet. He interviewed, joked and bantered back and forth with the ladies with ease. It was reminiscent of his days as Joey Bishop's sidekick on the latter's late night talk show. Philbin's songs consisted mostly of a medley of Perry Como tunes including Catch A Falling Star, What You Mean to Me and It's Impossible.

Both Philbin and Gifford worked the audience well often leaving the stage to shake a hand, pose for a picture and occasionally give or receive a kiss on the cheek. The duo's performance was fresh, perky and what many theater goer expressed leaving the Kirby Center, "a simply delightful evening." Concert Notes: One of the keys to the success of the duo's live show is how personal they make it. The pair made many local references about Wilkes-Barre being such a lovely city, with friendly people and as Philbin put it, "the home of 'the Rocket' (Raghib Ismail). fact, Philbin even RAS Productions and WNEP TV, the performance featured television talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford. The popular talk show airs locally on ABC affiliate WNEP and since Gifford joined the show in 1988, ratings have been nothing short of spectacular.

After two opening numbers together, the performers each took their turn at center stage during their Kirby performance. Kathie Lee opened her portion with Happy Days Are Here Again and a tume called Boogie which displayed her dynamic vocal range. Gifford's performance was very personal as she made many references to her family (her mother, father and newborn baby, Cody were in the audience), and talked about her days growing up in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Her summer song medley (as she called it) included Yesterday Once More, Under The Boardwalk, Get Around, Summer In The City, Theme From A Summer Place and Where The Boys Are. In 1990, readers of TV Guide voted Gifford "The Most Beautiful Woman on Television." Both performers were most aptly accompanied by the Lee Vincent Orchestra.

Paul Mahon served as musical conductor. During Philbin's portion of the performance, the veteran performer proved just what he's best at.
