UNH stopped a two-point conversion pass with two minutes left to preserve its fifth consecutive win and coach Bill Bowes' 100th career victory. Bowes, in his 16th year, owns a record of 100-57-3 and stands ninth on the all-time NCAA Division 1-AA lists in wins and winning percentage. UNH led, 21-7, midway through the third quarter. It was driving for another score when Lafayette's Dave McPhee wrestled the ball away from Ford and went 73 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was missed and UNH held a 21-13 margin.

Hopkins, a redshirt freshman, ran 18 times and scored Richmond's first touchdown on a 5-yard pass from Neuhoff. Neuhoff, who completed onlv 3 of 8 passes for 13 yards, iced the victory with a 7-yard scoring toss to T.J. Morgan with 3:20 left.
