Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Paraska Peters. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and was employed by Atwater Throwing Plymouth, until her retirement in April 1982. Prior to that she was employed by A.S. Beck Shoe Store 20 years. Preceding her in death were brothers, Michael, John, Peter, Samuel and George.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Winfred and Sydney Jones Corbin. She resided in Scranton until 1950 and was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. She was employed as a financial analyst for the Wilkes-Barre Redevelopment Authority for many years. Mrs. Jacobs also was associated with her husband in the operation of the Jacobs Funeral Home.
