By Robert A. McLean Globe Staff "The News at Ten." Boston's newest evening TV newscast, featuring some old, familiar names and faces, premieres Monday night at 10 on WLVI-TV (Channel 56). Veteran Boston newsman Jack Hynes is back at a full-time anchor desk slot, paired with Julie Emry, an award-winning broadcast journalist who comes to the Hub via Texas and Oregon. Joining them will be longtime Boston TV sports reporter Bill O'Connell and weatherman Jerry Brown, who returns to his hometown by way of St. Louis and assorted broadcasting way stations.

Deja vu could well be the big story as the Gannett-owned UHF outlet revives a prime-time local newscast format which was Introduced to Boston, with great success, on the old Ch. 56 -then WKBG-TV in the late 1960s. The area's first commercial TV newscast at 10 became so popular that It was about to overtake Ch. 7 as third-highest rated among late-evening telecasts when WKBG dropped all news operations in the early 1970s.
