I Weeiday, October WI WINONA DAILY NEWS Japanese Violinist to Perform At College of Saint Teresa the initial melody, a recapitulation, and a long concluding coda. The second movement is in trio form while the remain der of the work includes a min uet and is treated in the melod ic and harmonic style that is associated with Mozart's musical genius. "Sonata In Minor, No. 4' by Mozart will be the first violin solo presented by Miss Ma-uko Ushioda, 22, international exchange artist from Japan, Thursday at 8 p.m. at the College of Saint Teresa auditorium.

While much of Mozart's prodigious musical output reflected gaiety and brightness, this sonata is quite somber in character. The first movement opens with a pathetic, almost tragic theme. Following the second theme, there is the traditional development section based on HER SECOND selection will in this form. A majestic melody in full chord is subjected to 31 variations. The music for "Sonata for Piano and violin," by Yuzo Tova-ma, was written in January 1964 and was premiered in Japan in February 1964 by Miss Hisako Tsuji with Miss Sonoka Tanaka as piano accompanist.

This work is composed of three movements the first movement in allegro moderate; the second in presto scherzan-do, and the third in lento, ending with a brief allegro vivo. The first movement is written in a free sonata style. "FOUR Preludes," by Shos-takovich-Tziganov will be next on the program. Shostakovich be "Chaconne from Partita No, 2 in Minor," by Bach.
