Blood, 60, of Baldwin road, retired owner of a local chicken and egg farm, died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury. Mr. Blood was born in Abington and lived in Billerica for 32 years. He was graduated from Saugus High School and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Blood owned and operated Blood's Chicken and Egg Farm in Billerica until he retired for health reasons. (Barney) Madden, the retired sports editor of the Providence Journal-Bulletin, who died Sunday at Newport Hospital. Mr. Madden, 76, was sports editor of the newspaper from 1948 until his retirement in January 1970.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Mr. Madden was a graduate of Holy Cross College.
