Late member of the Dedham Catholics Womens Club. OBITUARIES Walter Denning, 78 Brookline physician A funeral Mass for Dr. Walter S. Denning will be said at 9 a.m. Monday in St.

Mary of theAssumption Church, Brookline. He died unex-: pectedly Wednesday in his Brookline home at the age of 78. Dr. Denning, a Brookline physician, was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society. 52 years.

A lifelong resident of Brookline and a graduate of Brookline public schools, Dr. was a 1929 graduate of the University of Vermont Medical School. During World War I1 he served in the medical corps as a captain and later retired from the Army reserves with the rank of colonel. He was a life member of Stephen F. Rutledge VFW Post 864 in Brookline, and was past grand knight and honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 10 in Brookline.
