Virginia, Tuesday, February 21, Charles Jones, 6 1 Former Fire eaplain A funeral Mass for Charles J. Jones 64, a retired Boston Fire Department captain, will be said at 11 a.m. today in St. Anne Church, Readville. He died Thursday.

A native of Boston, Mr. Jones was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and worked as a boilermaker's helper before his appointment to the Fire Department in May 1943. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1952 and to captain in December 1966. At the time of his retirement on Jan. 1, 1971, he was as- signed to Ladder 26.

A past grand knight of Msgr. Chit-tick Council, Knights of Columbus of Hyde Park, Mr. Jones was a member of the Society of St. Florian and Boston Firefighters Local 717. AFL-CIO.

He leaves his wife, Kathryne (Brennan); two daughters, Mrs. Owen (Virginia) Devlin of Sharon and Kathleen F. Jones of Readville; three sons, Richard E. of Milton, a Boston firefighter, Charles J. 3d of Brighton and Francis G.

O'Donnell. 43. supervisor of benefits in the auditing department of the Massachusetts Division of Employment Security. He was a resident of Centre street. Quincy, and died in his home Thursday of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. O'Donnell was born in Boston and lived most of his life in Dorchester. He was employed by the state agency for nearly 20 years, and held many managerial posts before joining the auditing department in 1968. He was a graduate of Boston English High School, Huntington Preparatory School and Bowdoin College. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of the National Assn.

of Government Employees (NAGE). He leaves his father, Edmond J. O'Donnell of Cohasset; a brother. Sean O'Donnell of Quincy, and a sister, Kerry O'Donnell of Brighton. Burial will be in St.

Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. George Munro, 20 Student at Cornell I niveisit A funeral Mass will be said for George P. Munro 20, a third-year chemical engineering student at Cornell University, at St. Peter's Church in Dorchester, at, 9 a.m. on Monday.

Mr. Munro, of Dorchester, died as a result of injuries from an auto accident in Ithaca, N.Y. on Feb. 14. He attended Boston Latin High School from 1969-1975, and was a member of the football and track teams.

He was captain of the track team and won the state championship competition in the 600-yard dash during his senior year. He participated in the Little League and the band at St. Peter's. He was an employee of Magoo's Saloon in West Newton and Boston. Interment will be in Mt.

Hope cemetery, Boston. Robert J. Pearson, 13 SALEM, N.H. Robert J. Pearson, 43, of Playcamp road, a truck driver, died today at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence.

after a brief illness. He was born in Boston and had resided in Salem 20 years. He attended Boston schools. A Marine veteran of the Korean war, Mr. Pearson was a member of the Air Force Reserve at Hanscom Airport, Bedford, Mass.

He was a member of Salem Post, VFW, and the Teamsters Union, Local 25. He leaves his wife, Marilyn (Collins): three sons, Mark Scott D. and Glenn J. Pearson; and a daughter, Kimberly A. Pearson, all of Salem.

He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Anna J. Pearson, of West Roxbury, three brothers, Francis L. of West Roxbury, and John W. and Donald Pearson, both of Boston; and a sister, Mrs.

John Goode of Weston. A funeral Mass will be said Monday at 9:15 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Main street, Salem.

Higgins, 87, former Fall River postmaster. A resident of Rosedale street, he died Thursday in Fairlawn Nursing Home in Lexington. Mr. Higgins was born in Fall River and graduated from Durfee High School. He entered the postal service in 1912 as a clerk in the Fall River office.

During World War I he served in the US Army's post office operation in France and was discharged with rank of lieutenant. During World War II, Mr. Higgins was in charge of the registration of aliens living in the Fall River area. Mr. Higgins was past grand knight of the Fall River Council, Knights of Columbus.

He was a charter member of the Serra Club of Fall River and the local American Legion post. He was a former director of the Fall River Boys Club. He leaves three daughters, Eleanor M. McGiil of Chesapeake, Catherine P. Osterman of Milton, and Mary E.
