The band gives a street concert every afternoon at 4 and the orchestra music at the evening entertainment is well worth the price of admission to the show.

It is indeed high class. Mr. Davis has in his company the highest class artists ever before seen in Hamilton, taking the company as a whole. Mr. Davis himself, only recently assuming roles, is an enormously popular actor, and plays some exceedingly clever roles.

The Downing well presents a spectacle entirely different to any well drilled in this part of the state and it is said by drillers that they have never seen just such formation in any field heretofore. The drilling is going forward in what appears to be a rock of a mixture of black lime and sand that is extremely hard and only a progress of some four feet per day can be made. But better yet with water during the entire summer the luscious fruit continued to be on the vine until the approach of the coming cold weather of winter. Another season the cuttings were transplanted and half a dozen rows formed the strawberry portion of the Hicks family garden which again to the consternation of the sages and local horticulturists continued to bear through out the summer. Then Mrs. Hicks felt she could afford to sell plants for the 1919 crop and still have all that she could handle in her own garden and eleven dollars worth were marketed to doubting ases whom her berry success had converted.
