The baby Is Gary Lefoy McPherson, bom to Mr. and Mrs.

McPherson of Melbourne, Feb. 1. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl McPherson of Lockhart.

N. and maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil B. Barker, 3S24 Cumberland Avenue.

The diapers were by grandfather McPherson and were loomed in Lockhart, N. where he is supervisor of the textile mills. Infant McPherson is many times blessed with grandparents. Waco- ans who are his great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.

Vick W. Dyer. 4225 Hillcrest Drive afid Mr. and Mrs. C.

B. Barker, 1608 Flint Avenue. The baby also has a grandmother as well as great- great-grandparetits all of Lockhart, S. C. The mother is the former Shirley Barker of Waco.

in Emmanuel Baptist Church. The program will climax a contest between 29 groups in the Training Union. An eight year union won the contest which included visitation, programs, new members and establishment of family altars. One of the six-year unions was second. Their nominees for king and queen.

Billy Hart and Janet Oliver, will be given special recognition for winning second place. Rev. Tilson Maynard, pastor, will be master of ceremonies and Rev. M. O.

Cheek, district Baptist missionary, will make the coronation address. Baylor Athenean Club Plans Party Assorted placards used in Cotton Bowl festivities will highlight decorations for the dessert party sponsored by the Athenean Club, one of social clubs for girls. Saturday evening in the drawing room of the Union Building. At this time eight winners chosen by Stan Kenton from a field of 16 beauties will be announced. Howard Lasenby Treated For Blood Poisoning Howard Lazenby, 1925 Gorman Avenue, is in Providence Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for blood poisoning following a cut on his hand. He has been in the hospital since Monday. Burl Murphys Return Home After Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Burl Murphy returned to Waco during the week following their wedding trip.

They were married recently in Lackland AFB chapel with Ch. 1-Lt. Roger Q. Burtner officiating. The bride is the former Miss Bobbie Jo Tate, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Sam L. Tate, 1326 Dutton Avenue. She attended Waco Technical High School and will make her home with her parents while her husband completes his basic training at AFB. Mr.

Murphy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Murphy, 1211 Daughtry Avenue. Best man was Harvey J. Daniel of Lackland AFB.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose for her wedding an aqua dress with passementerie trimming. Hat and gloves were white and accessories black. Her corsage was of white carnations. Salles A son, Larry Bowman Callahan, has been born to Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Callahan in Casa Grande, according to news received by Mr.

and Mrs. W. A. Salles of 600 LaClede Street, the great grandparents. The mother was Patsy Lee Johnston, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. J. Johnston, former Wacoans who now live in Stanfield, Ariz. The baby, weighing six and a half pounds, was born Jan. 26.

Mrs. Ethel Cooper Hardy Tells Nurse Experience Mrs. Ethel Cooper Hardy told Private Duty Section, Texas Graduate Nurses Association, about her experiences as a missionary nurse in South America when she spoke to them Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Annie Davis, 1806 Algonquin Avenue.
