J- THE NEW AMANA 1955 UPRIGHT FREEZER —features a pull-out service shelf and a large- capacity Stor-Mor Door equipped with a special ice cream compartment, a shelf with its own containers for leftovers, and adjustable storage racks. In addition to the 15 cubic foot size shown here, the firm's new line'includes Stor-Mor models in 12, 19 and 25 cubic foot sizes. The Stor-Mor Door Is completely lined with racks, shelves and compartments which can hold an unprecedented amount of readily accessible food — in this Model 15, 55 pounds of food ready for immediate selection. The greatest amount of food in the Stor-Mor Door is held in the convenient, gravity-fed racks, which hold the food packages one on top of the other, as in a cigarette vending machine. When bottom package is removed from any rack, the remaining packages drop one notch. Width of food racks is adjustable to fit any size package. This Model 15 stores 54 pounds of frozen food. Even-zero temperature is maintained throughout the freezer, by the action of six freezing plates — the four shelves and the coils at top and bottom. In this picture, the housewife is using the "leftover shelf" — which consists of five one-pinj, re-usable freezing containers, in red and yellow polyethylene, for storing leftovers, soups and oth- *ir foods. The ice cream compartment, with space for 27 pints of Ice cream in the Model 15, is directly beneath the leftover shelf. The pull-out service shelf, located under the fourth shelf in the main freezer compartment, Is for use in removing or re-adjusting food packages. Two Room Air-Conditioner Lines PresentedbyAmanaRefrigeration AMANA, la. — Two lines of washing. All models have the same room air conditioners, built with increased cooling power and designed for flush mounting as one of 23 possible installed positions in double-hung or casement windows, have been introduced by Amana Refrigeration, Inc. All models are equipped with thermostats to automatically maintain the desired temperature, nnd are constructed electrically according to the specifications of the new National Electrical Code, so as to require less elaborate and less expensive wiring installations. The Year 'Round models, in one- half, three-quarter, one horsepower and 1 '^-horsepower sizes, deliver more cooling because* the condensers have been increased in size up to 33 per cent, and the evaporator by as much as 50 per cent. Any one of six different combinations of cooling, heating, dehumidification and ventilation may be selected by adjusting a single glider control located across the front of the unit. Available with either a tan or ivory front, both with gold ti^m, the Year 'Round models contain a heating unit for use during late evening or fall chills . The new De Luxe room air conditioners, lower priced for the volume market, come in one-half, three-quarter, one and l/'z-hp. sizes. Capable of delivering cool- Ing, ventilation and dehumidification, they also are built With large evaporators and condensers for top cooling performance. The cabinets are brown with gold metal trim. Amana's 1955 models are built to operate on more standard electrical circuits, according to terms of the new National Electrical Code. Each of the three-quarter hp. models has a current consumption of less than 12.5 amperes and may be installed on a single outlet 15 Amp circuit. The half-hp models may' be installed on a 115-volt multiple outlet 15 Amp circuit. Both lines are engineered for quiet, vibrationless operation. The metal case and internal parts are acoustically insulated, with the front of the conditioners made of a sturdy, sound-deadening plastic All corners of the Amana room air conditioner cabinets are smoothly rounded, to make the unit attractive both inside and outside the window of any home or office. Adjustable installation in any one of 23 positions, 1? possible because there are no side louvres that might be blocked by curtains or walls. Both intake and exhaust openings for condenser air are located at the back end of the cabinet. Less than five inches of the De Luxe models need be installed inside a room, beyond the window line; and in the Year 'Round models, a little more than six inches. All models will fit any opening more than 25" wide and 15" high. They include a standard installation kit for double hung windows 26" to 48" wide.
