Jamieson, a self-employed land developer, served with the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Jamieson of 28 Evans Dorchester; two brothers, George D.

Jr. of Weymouth and William F. of Dorchester, and four sisters, Mrs. Ann Freeley of Dorchester, Mrs. Marjorie Dion of Southboro, and Mrs.

Auderey Pinato and Mrs. Margaret Louis, both of Brockton. The services will be in Bethany Congregational Church, Quincy. Burial will be in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree. Joseph Cutler, 76, retired official at Boston Herald Joseph I.

Cutler, 76, of 195 Independence Quincy, died at the Quincy City Hospital this morning He was born in Russia, educated in Boston. began as a newsboy with the old Herald Traveler prior to World War I( and worked his way up to superintendent of de-' livery at his retirement in 1966. He had been employed by the paper for more than 50 years. He was a member of Local 295 of the Teamsters' Union, and the Quarter Century Club of the newspaper. He was a member of and AM, and the Quincy Golden Agers and the West End Hous Alumni Assn.

He belonged to the Brotherhood of Congregation Hadrath Israel, formerly of Dorchester. Services will be at the Schlossberg Stanetsky Solomon Memorial Chapel, 824 Washington Canton, Friday, at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park. He leaves his wife Anna (Taishoff), a son Sidney Cutler of Quiacy; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Fox of Holbrook and Mrs.

Sylvia Rosenfield of Randalph; a sister, Mrs. Eva Cherniak of Revere; and seven grandchildren. Walter Brennan rites in Calif. United Press International SAN FERNANDO, Calif. -Only family members and a few close friends attended funeral services yesterday for actor Walter Brennan.

Brennan' died Saturday in St. John's Hospital in Oxnard where he was under treatment for emphysema. He had entered the hospital July 25, on his 80th birthday. Brennan won three Academy Awards for best supporting actor during his lengthy movie career, but his best known role was as "Grampa" in the television series "The Real McCoys." Helen Wood of Newton, 92, director of nursing schools Services for Helen Wood, 92, of Newton will be at 11 p.m. tomorrow in Newton Cemetery Chapel.

Miss Wood, who was a nurse, died Monday in Newton. A Newton native, she lived at 1036 Walnut Newton Highlands from 1883 until recently. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1904 and from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1909. She received a master's degree from Columbia University in 1924. During World War she substituted for the director of the MGH School of Nursing.

After the war and until her retirement i in 1946, she was director of nursing schools at Wash- Rev. Thomas professor at Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, S.J., 63 former associate of men and associate professor of theology at Holy Cross College, Worcester, died Tuesday in St. Vincent's Hospital Worcester after a long illness.

He was born in Waltham, attended local schools including St. Mary's High, and received an AB degree in history from Boston College in 1932. Fr. Walsh taught history at BC from 1938, to 1940 and then entered the Society of Jesus at Shadowbrook, Lenox, in 1932. He studied theology at Weston College, Weston, where he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Thomas A.

Emmett, S. in 1943. He celebrated his first Mass in June 1943 at St. Mary's Church, Waltham. After serving in various ministerial posts he went to Holy Cross, where he served as assistant dean of men from 1946 to 1948 and assistant professor of theology from 1948 to 1955.

In 1955 he returned to BC to teach theology for three years, after which he went back to Holy Dr. McEnany Former headmaster Dr. Dorothy (Lyons) McEnany, 77, of 79 Brook- died Dedham, suddenly at her home today. Born in Dedham, Mrs. McEnany, who held a doctorate in philosophy, was former headmaster of the Jeremiah E.

Burke High School in She was a member of the Dedham Women's Club and former member of the Dedham School Committee. Mrs. McEnany leaves one sister, Rosalie M. Lyons of 79 Brookdale av. A funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m.

at St. Mary's Church in Dedham. Burial will follow at the Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham. Yom Kippur begins for Jewry tonight Jewish leaders in Massachusetts yesterday urged Jews to renew their commitment to Israel during Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year, which begins at sundown tonight. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is a major Jewish holiday and is devoted to fasting, prayer and meditation.

It ends at sundown tomorrow. Though the holy day is solemn and regarded as a day of judgment, it is not mournful in character, but rather an opportunity for Jews to seek forgiveness for their sins.
