The teachers, all part of the school's work-study program for pupils, said Joseph Ippolito, director of the federally funded program, told a faculty meeting that Ellison expected them to buy tickets to his testimonial or Ellison would act in an "unfavorable" manner in matters that came before the School Committee regarding the school. The teachers testifying were Mrs. Lorraine Ashe of Winchester, Henry L.

Feenan of Mil ton, Mark Crchan of Wol-laston, and Timothy O'Con-ncll of Norwood, They said Ippolito subsequently apologized for the incident, saying he had been "oveiv.calous." They said the 48 teachers at the school, however, have been "split" into two camps since then, One camp has been protesting the raising of funds in this fashion; the other camp has apparently not objected to it or gone along with it. Robert Wasserman, former head of a civilian police team under William F. Powers, ex-state police commissioner, has been named to the post. He replaces deputy superintendent John J. Bonner, who has been reassigned to head the personnel division. The 30-year-old Wasserman is a former administrative assistant to the chief of police of Dayton, Ohio.

He is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of Antioch College. He has done graduate work in police administration. Fitzgerald Jr. Middlesex Superior Court Judge Roger J.

Donahue imposed a term of 19 to 20 years for armed assault to murder and 9 to 10 for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
