A Frenchwoman, Marie-Claude Fauroux, has won the prize for being the first female finisher in the sin-glehanded trans-Atlantic yacht race, a spokeswoman for the race-sponsoring London Observer said today. Some flounder around. Fluke starting to show on Middleground. GLOCCESTER-ROCKPORT (George Gleason) Plenty of mackerel and tuna. Flounder and harbor pollock excellent. Striped bass growing in numbers and size.

Offshore ground fishing fair to good except for spotty haddock. HYANIS-COTl'IT (Karen Hill) Fishing fogged in all week. Still good blue-fishing on Horseshoe Shoal, but fish smaller now and fewer. Small blues and school stripers fair inshore for small boats and shore fishermen. LYNN-NAHANT (Joe Delia Porta) Offshore party boats finding good cod (few from 30 to 68 lbs and big pollock (20 to 28 lbs).

Haddock very scarce. Flounder fishing excellent, mackerel good. More strifiers up to 30 lbs, outside, school bass in rivers. NARION MATTAPOISETT (Char ley Savery) Fog has slowed down outside fishing for bluefish. but they're: still there.

Plenty of school bass, and scup, and few squeteague still around for inshor anglers. MARTHAS VINEYARD (Kib Bramhall) Bluefish (2 to 10 lb range) still best bet at east, end of Island, scarce at west end. Big mackerel (up to 3 lbs.) at Menem-sha Light. Night fishermen willing towork hard taking bass up to 30 NANTUCKET (Moby Dirk) First scup, and big ones, have arrived.
